This is a bevel gauge, t-bevel gauge, etc. An angle finder would have an actual scale and markings for .... well, angles. It seems I should have looked more closely at the markings. Still serviceable, if all you need is a ruler that angles at a random point. That is not what I need. I was hoping for an alternative to all the digital angle finders. This was the only option. Not going to lie, 鶹 is kind of misleading now. Just in general.
I initially had purchased this to find angles for framing out a window. Never used something like this before then. After doing so, now every project I am working on, I find a reason to go back to it.
We built on an addition which included a bathroom, a pantry, and a bedroom with a closet. I have used it with trim, laminate flooring in the pantry, peel and stick in the bathroom, and custom shelving in the closet.
What I've learned is no walls are perfectly square even if you do them yourself. So wherever there is a corner, this makes it easy to see that slight discrepancy and make a cut that will follow.
