We don't use the suction much, as we remove it after every use, but if you press ont he suction cups, it does get well attached. If it gets very well and doesn't dry properly, it might get a smell, but it's machine washable and the smell goes away after drying.

    Love the knee pads and the thought of elbow pads however the material for elbow pads arnt very water resistant so the water gets inside and with the material really starts to smell like wet nasty plastic. I'm going to try washing it in the washer. The material could be more water resistant or allow for removal of just the pads instead of washing the whole thing.
