    I thought the Pyrex way of shipping stacks of 4 cups tightly shrink-wrapped together looked like it would survive shipping, and my custard cups did show up up intact — but not flawless.

    It doesn't photograph very well, but one cup out of four has a tiny air bubble in the bottom. In a glass product advertised as “Dishwasher, freezer, microwave and preheated-oven safe” that is not good.

    The usual advice for high-temperature glassware is — if it shows even a superficial scratch, don't heat it because it could crack or break, possibly violently. I don't feel like returning these, but now I have one more thing in my life to watch out for.
