    This bait station works great because you can use one of the Tom cat snap traps inside and not use poison, using the trap inside the station keeps children, dogs, cats and birds safe from getting snapped in the trap, so it’s ready to snap rats. You can secure the station to a floor or fence. The work great I’ve been using them for over 12 years now.

    I have several of these... and just ordered another.

    The screw had fallen out of the plastic bag in shipment and was loose in the package. The allen wrench thingy was missing completely... not a big deal since I have several others,

    I like these boxes a lot better thanother ones that you open with a "key" that involves awkward pressing and twisting... and eventually not working at all when the plastic deforms.

    These boxes close with a "click latch" plus a little screw that you turn with an Allen wrench to secure it. I was afraid that the screw threads would eventually strip out of the plastic and not work, but I have one of these that is almost seven years old and the screw closure still functions fine.

    But be aware (as other reviewers have noted) that the units may come with incomplete hardware!

    I have bought these bait stations in the past and have never had any problems with this item. This order was for 2 bait station’s, both stations are missing parts; steel bait holding rods. I had to make bait holder rods with a coat hanger. I am not a happy customer.

    A bit of a challenge to set up because there are NO instructions and it is hard to know where/how to place the rods to hold the bait. I did find an online video showing the exact brand and style of bait station so I was able to set it up using 2 of the bent bars to secure the bait. As far as the 2 straight bars, I have no idea how they would be used as they were not shown in the video. Since the bait station is to be placed along a wall or fence (where rodents travel) I first placed it away from our house along our fence but 2 weeks later, nothing but a slug ate any of the bait blocks. I moved the station closer to our house and along our neighbors chain link fence and within a week, the bait is definitely being eaten so this is obviously a place rodents travel through. These stations are not traps but rather just holders for bait that only allow smaller rodents inside to eat and keep other animals and pets out. Since they prefer dark places in which to eat, it works great if in a rodent traffic area.

    Very sturdy station comes with optional bait trays for loose poisons mice and (hopefully) voles prefer to the solid blocks of poison. In these bait stations I’m able to use both the loose stuff and the blocks. If they made one this size but with smaller entry holes for voles and micr only to keep out squirrels and chipmunks I’d have given 5 stars. A fee days after seting out these all our friends the squirrels and chipmunks were gone. Voles still everywhere. Hoping they eventualy get hungry enough to venture in for s hardy meal. I broke uo pieces of walnut and sprinkled on top of the tray of loose poison to help draw them to eat. After their natural supply of nuts from trees in our area are gone this winter, I’m hoping they feast on the poison so we might have a near voleless spring.

    This rat bait station works great. I have pet chickens and sometimes I give them a little more treat than they will eat, sprinkled about my yard. Recently I saw a large rat run across my yard, eating the chicken treats. I deployed my new rat bait station, after realizing the old station's bate was all gone. My other station is deployed in my shed. I originally just used a bowl with loose bait until I saw one of my chickens jumping in my open shed headed for the bowl of rat bait poison. So I suggest, always use a rat bate station to prevent accidental poisoning of your pets. And buy from DIY Pest Control. Excellence in customer service. They're Great!!!
