Product description

Protec PC-1C-BX Continuous Cleaning Cartridge features a patented , Aquastat that continuously works to hinder the growth of bacteria and mold. It's also capable of preventing the buildup of slime in the water and humidifier surfaces. These Protec Cleaning Cartridges work in all humidifiers and are safe/non-toxic. Aquastat contains no harsh chemicals or harsh acids making the cleaning action just as gentle as water on your humidifier surfaces and components. Besides, the Protec Cartridge contains no harmful chemicals while providing fresh, clean mist. The Protec Cleaning Cartridge uses the same that has been used for years in drinking water filters to prevent objectionable odors and tastes.

    It works for what its supposed to do. It keeps the water in your humidifier from bacteria build-up and getting slimy. My one gripe about it is that it turned my white humidifier brown and the only thing that took it off was a magic eraser. I tried with a toothbrush and then tried a dish cloth but the color would not come off until i used a magic eraser. If my humidifier wasn't white, i probably wouldn't notice it but alas it is.
