Product description

These pairs of window hinges are constructed of stainless steel mounting plates and steel link arms. The link arms are protected with a corrosive-resistant E-Gard coating and attach to the window sash. Once installed, these hinges are concealed from view from both the inside and the outside, but may require a special rabbet or plow for proper mounting onto the sash. These types of concealed window hinges can be used with crank-out and push-out casement windows, crank-out and push-out awnings windows, tilt-in hopper windows and transom windows. Set screws are not provided with these hinges, but when inserted into the plastic glides, they can convert to concealed friction hinges, commonly used on push-out casements to hold open when slightly windy, and with awning windows to prevent "bouncing" when closing. These hinges can be mounted at the header, on the sill or sides of the window openings. Installation fasteners are included with each pair. Use a #6-32 machine screw in the black plastic slider to cause friction to stop the window in place. A thumbscrew works best.

Unfortunately, they rust pretty bad :( See attached pictures, I replaced hinges for 4 windows, after 9 years (installed in 2015). This is for Canadian weather where there's snow on the window for a couple of months a year.

    Used this product to replace damaged hinges from almost hurricane force winds that swept through the area for about 20 minutes. The casement window 🪟 was oversized, so more pressure on the hinges and the top hinge fully gave way. The operator and bottom hinge stopped the window from crashing to the ground though.

    Replaced both hinges, (and the operator too), with this hinge assembly. When I received it I was disappointed to see that there was no longer a eccentric adjustment point like on the older hinge. However, LUCKILY, I did not need to adjust anything, it just fit perfectly from the get-go. Not sure how they managed this, but I was really impressed. The friction of the hinge was just like the old one, and the window lined up as perfectly as possible, considering the frame was slightly bent from those high speed winds. These wiped the floor with the (slightly cheaper) Chinese no-name hinges bought previously, which almost caused the (1000$) window to go crashing from the second story onto concrete below! 😱 no such shenanigans this time.

    The old hinges these replaced were completely broken, so it took repairing a few windows to see that the original hinges would come apart by design. these units are assemblies that don't come apart, so screw to the window, then hold the window up while a second person screws the hinge to the frame. While making the process more than a one person job, an super fix for the windows that works like the original once installed.
