I was able to sand rust spots clean to the metal in a few seconds, like I wanted. You need to sand rust spots on your car before applying touch-up paint? Works like a charm. I use these for spot sanding the small rock chips on my vehicles that have formed a bit of rust before I touch up paint. It takes care of light rust and paint scuffing easily. They just aren't cheap and you will wear down the fiberglass fairly quick. If you say are doing a used car yo just bought you may go through one or two (it comes with one refill inside itself) to do the one car so get refills as well if you plan multiple uses over the years.
