This Potassium bicarbonate is very nice. It has a well designed container with a twist top that allows both shaking and pouring. It works well for reducing acidity in mead, which is what I got it for. However, it’s made in China, which due to different regulations, can be dangerous.

This functions basically the same as baking soda with the advantage that it has no sodium in it. So, this is a low-sodium alternative to have on hand for baking or anything other activity that requires baking soda.

To me, the taste is indistinguishable, and I notice no difference.

I think it really depends upon why you purchase this product. I purchased this for baking because I am on a low sodium diet. I found it to be incredibly bitter. I am told that there are some people who do not experience the bitter flavor with that. I’m also one of those people that cilantro taste like soap so I assume other people will have better luck

I do not have a green thumb and certainly little knowledge for plant care, but a quick search indicated that I had white powdery mold on my young Meyer lemon tree, and a remedy it sodium bicarbonate in a water solution and spray the plant. So I ordered this and make the simple solution of the sodium bicarbonate and water and sprayed the plant. Worked like a charm! I know there are a bunch of uses for this, but for me it is for plant care!

I got this because I'm chronically low on potassium (partly genetic, partly because of my diet). Most of the food sources of potassium involve leafy greens, fresh veg and fruits, none of which are enjoyable to me and all of which are expensive. I like to bake at home and I keep a pretty tight budget (mostly buying bulk, shelf-stable pantry goods rather than fresh, perishable groceries), so there's not a lot of potassium naturally available in my regular diet. I get plenty of sodium from salt, so I thought this alternative to sodium bicarbonate sounded like a brilliant way to add potassium to my baked goods instead.

The bottle holds 10oz of powder, and comes with a shaker lid, though I don't use that because I measure out baking soda in teaspoons, not by sprinkling it out. It's a neat little tapered shape that is wider at its base, so it's hard to knock over, which is nice. The label is pretty lacking in info, though--all the product information is on the cardboard box, instead. Be aware that this comes from China! It does provide the manufacturer's address and email, and an expiration date (mine arrived in early 2025 and expires in late 2029). The box also provides some ratios for using the powder, but they don't make sense (it lists amounts to be used in "baked goods," but mostly the examples aren't baked goods at all: ice cream, cocoa powder, jam, and drinks??). I just use it like baking soda and don't worry too much about the label, so it's fine for my kitchen. If you worry about a professional label and a product made in China, however, this isn't a good one for you.
