This switch fits into standard pre-cutout for most car, Jeep, 4X4, SUV, ATV, UTVmotorcycle, boat,truck, Wrangler and other off-road vehicles. It can be used to control the up /down,clockwise/counterclockwise motion ofDCloads(e.g. motors, hoists, cranes, linear actuators, etc.)

If one wants to illuminate the switch on both up and down lights all the time one must use the switch as a SPDT and use two separate relays. The terminals on the right hand side (4 tabs) are for the SPDT switch and ground; and the terminals on the left (3 tabs) for continuous switch lighting. Type: 'winch switch continuous lighting' in YouTube for information. The same function on all these types of switches where you use it for reverse polarity (actuators). Not just winches.
