The original PS2 was the first ever console I've ever owned. This is by far my favourite console. I've played so many games on this and spent so many hours on it. Unfortunately, it died on me waaaay back. The slim version was a good replacement since it took up A LOT less space. The original PS2 was one of the bigger consoles (it's smaller than the PS3 and PS5). The Dualshock 2 was a fantastic as it was a be upgrade over the Dualshock 1. It could also play most of the PS1 games, which my brother had a lot of. I've played all the Square Enix games on the PS2. The Ratchet and Clank games were amazing. Jak and Daxter series was also amazing. There are too many games to list. Best PlayStation ever.

This product was disgusting! It came so dirty and I had to wipe it down and the joystick was very sticky. It kept getting stuck and my X button was also jammed. Also the PlayStation is suppose to be Black and it came in silver. The picture shows that there’s a memory card but there is no memory card included but to be fair the description didn’t mention it having a memory card but I still find that disappointing as it’s false advertisement. I also had to clean the laser for it to read my ps2 discs. It would not read any CD until I did so not to mention I had a mint condition ps2 game and it scratched it up. I ended up keeping the ps2 because I was excited to have it and I had to clean it up. But had I known all this I would’ve definitely gone for another seller.

The fact that it works on my TV is good.. But the catch... is that you may have to replace the laser inside as the PS2 will have trouble reading game disc's. And if you want the time and date to work, you may have to replace the battery inside too. All the secondhand PS2 will most likely have problems. But it's cheaper to replace parts yourself, then to pay someone to do it for you, as buying another PS2 will be more costly. Otherwise, I don't regret buying the PS2, I really wanted to play old Kingdom Hearts on it and the original Final Fantasy 7 on it.

It’s great to have a PS2 again. What surprising was, the ps2 I got, was a customized ps2. It says “Matrix!” After turning on the ps2. Which is something I’ve never seen before. So that’s cool.

However, the ps2 itself is not perfect unfortunately. You see, I put in a brand new game in the ps2. And it went well for a couple hours. But after that, the games I was playing, started glitching out. And they froze. So I had to turn off the ps2. After turning it off, I checked out the back of the disc, there was a scratch all around the disc. Which is so disappointing. It happened to 2 newly opened games in a row :/ So the ps2 is only good for a short period of time. After that, it’ll scratch up your discs in no time

For a while, I've been wanting to own a PlayStation 2 just so I can go back and relive the nostalgia with the games I've played growing up, and when I finally got it I was absolutely filled with joy to have the console in my hands for the first time in nearly a decade.

As far as the console itself went, it looked to be in really good shape. I did have to disassemble the console since it looked very dirty on the inside, but after spending some time cleaning it up it has worked wonders so far. The controller works fine, just the D-Pad can be a bit unresponsive to where I have to press down pretty hard on the right one specifically if I'm trying to tweak some settings in-game or on the system in general. Good thing I ordered a extra controller as a backup.

So far, so good when it comes to the PS2. Hasn't given me any problems, especially since I had to disassemble it to give it a good cleaning. Overall, I'm impressed.

Thanks for everyone's honest reviews. Unfortunately for me I didn't read them in time. The unit I received the laser didn't work. The controller cord was damaged but it worked. Lucky for me that I ordered a free mcboot memory card when I ordered this. I watched some videos on YouTube to learn how to use it. Amazingly I was able to make it work. The game played just like it was on disc. No lagging or anything. Also you need a usb stick for your games.

(WARNING) The slim version can get really hot. Also make sure you are buying from a trusted seller and that the console is in PERFECT working condition.
