I preordered the console in September about an hour after the Sony event finished streaming and it was delivered to me on November 16.

It is certainly a chonk of a console but was very easy to get the stand on (I have it vertical), and setup was very quick and easy. I was soon transferring my saves from the cloud onto the console. It runs very quiet which is great compared to my PS4 which sounded like a small jet taking off.

The controller is great. It's a little larger and heavier than the PS4 controller but you get used to it rather quickly. The haptic feedback is awesome and is definitely an interesting sensation. I love the feel of the controller as the textured backing and handles gives a good grip. The built in mic and speaker work just fine, though I still find the sound to be a little on the quiet side, even after maxing out the volume setting and friends say I sound a little echoey.

My only issues I had at the beginning were that none of the USB slots worked to charge controllers in standby mode. It would charge fine if the console was turned on but I usually plug in my headset and controller overnight. With the recent update however, this problem has been alleviated and now charges the controller in standby, but I noticed it won't charge my PS4 gold headset in any of the USB ports. I have the dongle plugged into the back and that works but it won't charge, in standby or when it's on. Unsure if this is glitch or the console doesn't recognkze the PS4 headset hardware?

I've only played a few games, currently demon's souls, miles morales, astro's playroom, apex legends, fall guys, and no man's sky. The PS5 games look amazing and now that I have a better console, no man's sky looks and runs so much better. The load times are very quick and jumping in and out of a game are fast and easy.

Overall, I love this new console and am very pleased to have purchased it. Not only will new PS5 games be amazing to play but older PS4 games I have yet to play will benefit from various upgrades due to the hardware.

First of all, I want to thank the person who runs the PS5Stock_Canada Twitter account. Without him/her, I would not be able to secure a PS5 console coz this damn thing always sold out within minutes of the drops!! If you have been having difficulty getting a PS5, I strongly recommend you to follow him/her on Twitter and keep checking it every few minutes coz PS5 drops can happen any time (even at mid-night for Walmart)!! Don't try to buy it from unknown sources on Twitter coz there are a lot of scammers out there!!

Back to the console, I have a PS4 (not pro) before upgrading to PS5. Having tried a few games (PS4: FIFA, Final Fantasy VII Remake & 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, PS5: Assassin's creed Valhalla) on the PS5, I definitely notice a huge difference in the graphics. The motions definitely feel more fluid. Moreover, the loading time is much shorter compared to the PS4. Finally, one thing I really like about PS5 is that I am able to switch back-and-forth from other apps (e.g. DAZN, youtube) to the game easily.

The controller is definitely...different compared to Dual shock 4. The vibration difference on difference surface is pretty cool and I really like how the stiffness of the L2 and R2 buttons can change during the game.

In conclusion, I think it is a great console to own for gamers, given the exclusives that are going to be released on the PS5.

The Playstation 5 met all my expectations and to everyone out there who is saying that it is too expensive, I challenge you to build a computer with the same specs at this price. PC will of course always reign supreme due to the customizability and graphics options but for our console warriors this is the definite MUST BUY 'right now'. The games available are super fun and you can play all of your PS4 titles as well. The upscaling is great and although there isn't much for the 4K@120hz content, I did notice some really neat detail differences playing PS4 games on the PS5. It would appear some developers have done some 'behind the curtains' optimization for the new system. I would wait on the Xbox Series X until some of the exclusives come out next year, there's really no point in buying it. But if you can get your hands on a PS5, be sure you do, it's awesome! About the microphone: for those of you who don't know, the PS5 has a built-in microphone in the controller. This is enabled by default, ensure the first thing you do when you get your system is mute it in the system settings.
