The 2015 remastered PHYSICAL GRAFFITI is in my opinion , the best sounding version of this album on regular CDS.
P.G. is a little louder , much clearer and cleaner than before. It could be the best sounding of all of the LED ZEPPELIN remasters , so far.
While the other remasters are also excellent sounding this 2015 remaster seems to take this new remastering process to the next level.
In the opening song called "Custard Pie" PLANT'S voice is no longer lost in the mix. LED ZEP , were experimenting with Plant and other band members recording some of their song part's in the studio's hall way to create special sound effects. In the older versions PLANT'S voice seemed way too far away and in this case it didn't work so well. The beginning of "The Rover" also sounds vastly better.
The song called "Night Flights" is now at the same volume level as all of the other songs. "KASHMIR" , will blow your head off among other things. Other examples of vastly improved sound in this album's songs are "In The Light" , "Sick Again" and "Trampled Under Foot"
In the "The Wanton Song' " the guitar's sound just incredible , etc...etc...
This 2015 remaster fixes it all. The songs sound full , warm and alive not flat and tinny as before.
What really shines on this album are the drums. You hear every note. All the instruments are now in perfect balance with each other. If you own the Japanese SHM-CDS these remasters are louder than those ones but sound just as great.
They are not as loud as the , MOTHERSHIP CDS.
Again , as with the other LED ZEP remasters they are far , far better sounding than the old 1993 / 1994 remasters. FAR BETTER!!!
PAGE used the same remastering process as BOB LUDWIG used for the BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN Album Collection Box Set Volume 1 and for , THE TRAGICALLY HIP'S "Fully Completely" CD remaster.

- Reviewed in Canada on March 3, 2015Verified PurchaseYou thought you knew Physical Graffiti. You didn't. Hearing this remastered version IS a real eye opener. The musicality of Led Zeppelin has always been impressive.....but now.....wow.....you can hear stuff going on in the tracks that you never knew even existed. And try listening to it with headphones. You will come away even more impressed.
Physical Graffiti has always been my favourite Zeppelin album. I am so glad I bought this 3 CD package as the music contained is a revelation. Its even better than I could possibly hope for. The bonus CD is also very good. It shows songs in development and mixes that are different etc. Its like the icing on the cake.

Anyone of the original album CD's could have been released as a multi million seller single album. This was Led Zeppelin at its creative and performing peak. It just doesn't get any better than this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fresque sonore

5.0 out of 5 stars Zeppelin at the zenith
Verified PurchaseZeppelin's sixth studio album appeared in 1975, a generous 80 minutes of music spread over two 12" vinyl disks in those days known as a `double album'.
PG contains a mix of styles ranging from pounding hard rock numbers (`Trampled Underfoot' was inspired by Robert Johnson's `Terraplane Blues') through poignant reflective songs with great dynamics like `Ten Years Gone' and `Down by the Seaside'. Add in a boogie-woogie jam, a short acoustic guitar piece, a thunderous 11-minute re-work of the gospel classic `In my Time of Dying' and the seminal `Kashmir': an epic, majestic number of awesome power "like the last dinosaur on Earth walking up the path" by common consent one of Zeppelin's finest moments (if not THE finest) and you have a truly classic album. In fact, PG is so packed with great songs it's difficult to pick out highlights without going through the complete song list as many excellent reviews have done already.
If you're new to exploring the music of this talented British rock band from the 1970s, PG might be a good place to start because it has just about everything. Around half the songs were new compositions from 1973-75 and the remainder re-worked numbers - in some cases extensively re-worked - which hadn't made previous album releases, for example the title track from the `Houses of the Holy' album which didn't make the final cut of that 1973 release, but was revived for inclusion on PG. All four band members are here on top form, the contributions of John Paul Jones on `Trampled Underfoot', `In the Light' and `Kashmir' being particularly outstanding. The end-result is every bit as great as the `runes album' (LZ4) but more stretched-out and varied with greater scope; more the rounded collection than unified vision.
PG showcases Zeppelin at the height of their creative powers and belongs in any collection of classic rock music. It's still selling after 35 years, still sounds fabulous and has found new generations of young fans not even born when this music was created.
