I have other Phomemo printers as well as this one, and they all work really well. Once I figured out the app functionality it is a quick print job from my phone, laptop, or iPad. These are lightweight and portable and are very handy to have, even if you have a larger printer at home. While you do have to use special thermal paper it's not really an issue, and I find it easier to keep thermal paper on hand than have ink wells that dry up in a printer. My other portable printer only accepted the rolled paper and I had an issue with that but this one takes letter size paper and I find that much more useful.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ = Wow. I love it.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ = Hey, this is pretty great.
⭐⭐⭐ = Meh. It's okay but I don't love it. Someone might like it.
⭐⭐ = Not great. Best to avoid.
⭐ = Nope. This is bad.

My wife works from home most of the time and having to get ink for our regular printer regularly was getting expensive. I got this thermal printer for her as she prints mostly stuff in black and white and thought this would be enough for her needs. Well, this printer has been great at that and more, as I have also used it to print stuff for myself and even my kids.

The printer is quite small and portable, which is awesome as it can be brought pretty much anywhere. Setting it up was straightforward and I really like the app as it is very user friendly and it allows you to even generate images via AI, which I sometimes use to print stuff for my kids to draw on.

The print quality is very good for a thermal printer, although at very small letter sizes it starts to become a bit hard to read. I suggest keeping your font at a 11 size or larger. The printing speed is also adequate. I wouldn't print a very large batch of files but for day to day printing needs this is great.

This printer is honestly amazing and I am glad to have gotten one. The portability, the quality and easiness makes it very well worth it.

✅ From the Phomemo app installed on an Android 14 device, documents (e.g. PDF) were successfully printed via Bluetooth wireless connection to the M08E printer.
✅ The suggested Android app works fine and uses Bluetooth to connect to the printer. However, you have to use the app to print a document or graphic file.
✅ Considering the printer's size and power cable-free operation, pages successfully printed with the expected slow'ish page rate of a thermal printer. Sound level was low and was also typical of a thermal printer. Neither behaviours bothered me.
✅ Portable weight I thought was acceptable given that much of it might be battery.
✅ The printer easily slips into a backpack.
✅ Loading thermal paper was simple, although you have to pay attention to the orientation (i.e. treated side downward on this printer). Also, there is minimal responsibility on the part of the user to insert the page square with the input slot. Humans can't be too complacent or lazy to not try.
✅ The printer appears to turn off automatically after some idle time.
✅ The kit was nicely complete with a pair of USB-to-USB-C cables, a travel bag and 10 sample pages of thermal paper.
✅ The user quick start guide was easy to understand and was written in multiple languages.
✅ On the back of the printer the manufacture included comprehensive contact information including office hours of operation (Eastern Standard Time).

❌ The downloaded driver installed successfully. The M08E printer was registered and detected by Windows 11. However the queued print job never was actually printed. The queue was cleared as if the job was successfully printed. Something doesn't seem well with the driver. My other Windows 11 drivers work fine with other respective printers.
❌ You must use USB cable connectivity to your PC.
❌ To connect with Windows 11, a USB cable (included) has to be used.
❌ The warranty card asked for a unit serial number, but none was found on the printer.
❌ Some shoppers might find the vendor's asking price a little high. Maybe if it were $79.95 Cdn then there would be stronger incentive. Recurring revenue is about selling thermal paper.

NOTES:

* Do not expect laser printer quality. Thermal printers are essentially old school facsimile printers without the modems. The output is good enough and is readable. Line graphics typically turn out well. Note that classic thermal printers do not do shades of grey. They can simulate with varying dot density.
* Since the printer leverages the convenience of thermal paper, the longevity of the printout is limited by the quality and attributes of the manufacture of the paper. This is not a factor of the printer.

SUMMARY:

The market is rich with portable thermal printer offerings. The functionality and general output quality is what was expected of this type of technology. The M08E prints well, particularly from modern mobile devices.

I currently own the M08F version of this printer and I love it, hence getting a second for at work.
As with all Phomemo products, the M08E is good quality, fells solid, performs well, and looks stylish.

It will only print in black & white, you can only print one-sided, and as the printing is thermal the print quality is great but not super! The print-outs are also no good for archiving, as they will fade over time. This is just the nature of thermal printing.
If you're cool with all of that, than 100% get yourself one of these printers. They are great at what they do!

The battery lasts for ages, but this is, of course, entirely dependant on how much you print. It does recharge a bit slowly, but I just pop it on in the morning of a day I know I won't use it.
The compact size & weight of the printer make it super easy to take wherever. It will fit in a laptop bag with ease.
It's Bluetooth, so you don't even need to remember a cable! And if you don't have a laptop, just print from your phone - super easy with the app.

The app itself is great. There is some basic photo editing tools in there, as well as some images, but being a b&w printer it's sadly not that great at image printing. The app itself is easy to use though, very intuitive.

The biggest pain, for me, is remembering to have the correct kind of paper - you can't just use normal plain paper. The fact that it comes on a roll makes it much more transportable though! The hardest bit is feeding it into the printer straight so that you don't end up off the page-edge and having to reprint.
This is offset by the lack of ink requirements; cheaper, and no fiddling around with ink cartridges. Also, if you don't use the printer for an extended period, it won't dry up like ink can.

In general , if you just want to print simple b&w pages wherever you are, this is a great little printer and highly recommended.

Über macOS Sequoia war die Einrichtung sehr einfach und der Thermodrucker M08E wurde gleich gefunden, da ich bereits die Treiber installiert hatte.
Auch über eine App kann dieser Thermodrucker M08E verbunden werden um diesen zu nutzen.
Wenn USB-C Gesteckt wird dieser Thermodrucker M08E auch gleichzeitig geladen.
Öffnen lässt sich dieser über die 2 Baden Links & Rechts indem man diese gleichzeitig drückt!
1X Thermorollenpapier Liefert Phomemo hier bereits mit und man kann gleich los drucken aber bitte vorher die Roller herausnehmen, die Folie entfernen und Rolle wieder Einlegen!
Die Firma Phomemo ist mir bekannt da ich schon Andere Drucker von Ihnen sehr Erfolgreich im Einsatz habe.

Es gibt unzählige Anwendung für diesen Tollen Thermodrucker M08E von Phomemo!
Ich persönlich finde diesen Mobilen Thermodrucker M08E sehr gut Gelungen von Phomemo.
