I had a Philips iron that lasted me 20 years, but finally stopped heating. I searched everywhere for a similar one and tried a few and hard to return because they all leaked or were to awkward to use.
I saw this Philips one and it looked similar to mine, but was priced low. I thought why not, let's give it a try.
Let's start with the main thing, it does not leak. It's labeled anti drip. This is an additional mechanism they add to irons to stop them from leaking even if you just fill it with water and don't turn it on.
It has a decent steam and you can steam vertically. Perfect.
Simple to use dial and steam controller. The plate glides well.
Auto shutoff.
The iron just works and does the job.
Ok, now to some things that can be better.
Being only 1250 W, I feel it doesn't get hot enough for my liking. It heats up quickly, but just not enough. It should be 1350w or 1500w at the least.
The steam can be stronger too but it's sufficient for most needs.
Finally, the cord where it attaches to the iron. I wish that ball thingy is not on top, but on the back, or right at the edge where the top meets the back. Sometimes it just gets in the way.
I've been using this iron for a few months now and I love it.
