Product description

Made in France since 1840, Peugeot mills are renowned by chefs and gourmet cooks the world over for their consistent grind results, incredible resilience and proven reliability. Compromise is not a word that fits into the Peugeot vocabulary. For each spice, there is one and only one Peugeot grinding mechanism: peppercorns, coarse dry salt, chilies, herbs and spices, wet salts and nutmeg. Add the coffee mechanism, which started it all, and there are seven unique Peugeot mechanisms. Each is designed to derive the most flavour and greatest aroma from its complementary spice. Aesthetically pleasing, Peugeot mills deliver the height of quality, durability, reliability and innovation, making these mills the ones to which all others are compared. The high quality beech wood used in Peugeot mills is grown, harvested, dried, shaped and finished in France. For Paris Classic mills, the grind is adjusted by turning the top nut: turn it clockwise (tighten) for a finer grind; counter-clockwise (loosen) for a coarser grind. This mill is equipped with Peugeot's legendary pepper grinding mechanism. Made of case-hardened steel, it has received additional treatment against wear and corrosion. Its double-row of helix-shaped claws grab and crack each peppercorn before drawing it down to the teeth for the perfect grind. Mill is 9-Inch tall, stained to a chocolate finish.

    I use a pepper mill almost daily and have had several of varying quality over the years and this one seems to be the best quality so far - and would hope so based on the price. Easy to adjust the grind and very smooth to turn. Unlike the lower quality mills, this one just takes a slight turn on the lowest setting to get plenty of fine pepper. You almost need to be careful if applying directly to food not to over-season if you want just a hint. I can't speak to the longevity but so far so good.

    Die Peugeot Paris Pfeffermühle Holz im Schokoladendesign ist ein klasse Produkt und ein absolutes Muss für jeden (Hobby-) Koch und jede (Hobby-) Köchin. Die Peugeot Pfeffermühle ist eine vergleichsweise große Mühle die durch ihr schlichtes und klassisches Design aber nicht negativ zwischen anderen Küchenutensilien auffällt. Die Pfeffermühle liegt angenehm in der Hand und klemmt oder quietscht nicht, was ich persönlich sehr angenehm finde. Die Pfeffermühle wird mit schwarzem Pfeffer gefüllt geliefert. Durch das Rad am Kopf der Pfeffermühle lässt sich verstellen wie grob oder fein die Pfefferkörner gemahlen werden sollen. Seitdem ich mit einem Koch zusammen wohne weiß ich die Technik der Peugeot wirklich zu schätzen, bei der die Körner erst zerschnitten und dann gemahlen werden. Für einen geschulten Gaumen macht dies einen zwar kleinen aber feinen Unterschied in der Würze des Pfeffers (besonders beim Nachwürzen). Die Verstellbarkeit des Mahlgrades ist besonders für den Wechsel zwischen Kochen und Nachwürzen äußerst praktisch. Da die Pfeffermühle ein wenig größer als herkömmlich Pfeffermühlen ist, lässt sie sich sehr leicht neu befüllen ohne das man die Pfefferkörner in der ganzen Wohnung verteilt.
    Ein äußerst positiver Aspekt ist die lebenslange Garantie der Peugeot Pfeffermühle. Ich finde das sehr vertrauenserweckend und würde daher sagen, dass es sich bei der Mühle um eine gute Investition handelt an der man ein Leben lang Freude haben kann.
    Dementsprechend würde ich auch das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis als sehr positiv bewerten.
