Peterson Field Guide To Birds Of North America, Second Edition (Peterson Field Guides) Kindle Edition
鶹
For decades, the Peterson Field Guide to Birds has been a popular and trusted guide for birders of all levels, thanks to its famous system of identification and unparalleled illustrations. Now that the American Birding Association has expanded its species Checklist to include Hawaii, the Peterson Guide is the first edition to include the wonderful and exotic species of our fiftieth state. In addition, the text and range maps have been updated, and much of the art has been touched up to reflect current knowledge.

- Reviewed in Canada on January 2, 2021Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseThis edition has SO much more detail and more birds than the book my parents gave to me as a kid. It has the birds that I couldn't identify before and I carry this book whenever we go for drives out in the countryside. It's very handy to have on hand with you. The illustrations are beautiful and detailed, and this shipped really fast despite me not having Prime at the time I bought this.

- Reviewed in Canada on February 26, 2021Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseIt's not my only bird book but it's one I use regularly. My other book is from the Audobon Society with live photos of birds.

4.0 out of 5 stars Artículo golpeado.

5.0 out of 5 stars Big pictures
Format: HardcoverVerified PurchasePictures annotated in the Peterson way, good maps, all you need in a field guide, plus the sadness of the ecological disaster of Hawaii's birds. A page of illustrations of some of the recently extinct birds of these islands puts the terrible story of stupid importations of predators into view. The fact that some of these birds were last seen in 1968 made my heart sink, as activity to support the wildlife during my lifetime could have made all the difference. Oh let it be that a new edition of the book adds some of them, recently seen again in breeding colonies hidden in the furthest away places of the archipelago!
