Great job for the price, but won’t completely remove damage
For $11, this kit gets the job done. I had two chips on my 3-month old windshield and after being quoted $60 each at one of those tents in the parking lot, I decided to try doing it myself. I watched a couple of YouTube videos in advance and made sure to read all the instructions carefully before starting. If you take your time and pay attention, this isn’t a difficult process. I followed the instructions as written and was pleasantly surprised to find the razor blade, push pin, alcohol wipe, and acrylic strip included. I was under the impression that these weren’t going to be included in this cheaper kit but am very happy they were! The whole process took me about 1.5 hrs to do both chips somewhat simultaneously. But there’s a lot of waiting for things to settle and cure - maybe 30 minutes active time total. RESULTS: The red circled chips in the photos are before, one was a smaller chip and the other was a larger combo bullseye. I went into this wanting to prevent further cracking, not an invisible repair. The green circled chips show the after, I think the smaller chip worked out better than the bullseye, it’s much more contained with only one “leg” of the starburst left and in person it is almost not noticeable (it was hard to get a decent close up shot in focus it was so small). The larger chip is definitely still noticeable but much clearer, I imagine the resin filled in the chipped layers that made it more white. Again, not completely invisible but less noticeable and hopefully will prevent it from cracking the windshield. My only complaint would be echoing other reviewers, the resin tube is so small it’s hard to know how much is left. From the videos I watched essentially all you needed for sealing it with the acrylic strip at the end is a drop or two, so I tried to make sure I had that left. Overall, for $11 and some flexibility in the final appearance (again, I was more concerned about spreading/cracking than an invisible chip) I am quite pleased with the results

    It doesn’t work because the glue can’t be poured into such a narrow opening—the adhesive just pools at the top of the pedestal and is too thick to flow down to the opening. They should have included a resin tube with a long nozzle to reach directly into the tube and apply glue at the window. It did not work in the end. I hope this doesn’t prevent me from properly repairing the window later.
