I read the odd review that said PolyChromos colour pencils do not fit into these pencil extenders. So I am here to say that they do (or, at least they fit MY brand new Faber Castill PolyChromos pencils). I just got my new set of 120 Faber Castill PolyChromos colour pencils today!! First time using them. I had to see if they fit these pencil extenders (they got delivered first) and they do. Check out the photo! Note: colour pencil is new so that's why it's full length; I will use extenders when the pencils are like tiny stubs). I also included me measuring the diameter (as best as I can) of the pencil. I measure what I think is the thickest part (it's the largest measurement I could get. Faber Castill PolyChromos mesaure 7.9mm. Regardless, they fit into these pencil extenders. I can't say for others that may be thicker than the PolyChromos. I gave this product 5 stars for fitting my colour pencils, price and what I feel are a durable product. That being said, I haven't actually used them in practice yet. But I think they will be fine. If they end up breaking easily, I'll update and revise my rating.

I have personally used these holders on the following pencils and the holders worked just fine: CarbOthello pastel pencils, General's charcoal pencils, PrismaColar Scholar color pencils, Ritmo charcoal pencils, Staedtler Mars Lumograph pencils, Faber-Castell Pitt charcoal pencils, Derwent Graphic pencil, Derwent Sketching pencil (fit but just barely) and finally, Faber-Castell Graphite Aquarelle pencils DID NOT fit. I have 10 of these holders now and all showed the same level of quality of construction so I think they will hold up. I find them comfortable to hold.

Before buying anything I always read the worst reviews as part of evaluating the product. A number of people complained that these holders didn't work for any of the pencils they had. My experience with the products listed above was just the opposite. Mind, when you tighten, you have to twist a bit but my 73-old arthritic hands could do it so I believe most people should be able to make these work too.

Finally, price was significantly better than many of the other extenders out there.

All in all, I'm happy.
