Product Description

Park Tool CC-3.2 Bicycle Chain Checker
A worn bicycle chain can cause poor shifting and in time can even cause excessive wear to the derailleur and rear cogs, causing a much more expensive problem. That's why bike component manufacturers recommend chain replacement at regular wear intervals. The Park Tool CC-3.2 is a go/no-go gauge designed to accurately indicate when a chain reaches 0.5% and 0.75% wear (or "stretch"), the points at which most chain manufacturers suggest replacement. The CC-3.2 is long, accurate and features permanent measurement markings. The CC-3.2 works on most derailleur chains* from 5 to 12-speed. For 5-to-10-speed chains, replace chain just as the gauge fits the 0.75% side fits flat into the chain. For 11 and 12-speed chain, replace as the 0.5% side fits. Check with manufacturer for specific replacement instructions.
*NOTE: For SRAM AXS 12-speed road chains, use the Park Tool CC-4.
How to Read the CC-3.2
<0.5% Wear
This chain has less than 0.5% wear, which is acceptable on all derailleur and single-speed drivetrains.
≥0.5% Wear
This chain has at least 0.5% wear. 11-to-12-speed chains should be replaced at or before this measurement.
≥0.75% Wear
This chain has at least 0.75% wear. 5-to-10-speed chains should be replaced at or before this measurement.
Park Tool offers several options for measuring chain wear, depending on your needs and drivetrain components:

- Reviewed in Canada on February 15, 2021Verified PurchaseWhat's not to like about this item? This chain wear indicator provides a very precise idea of how much wear one's chain has. In this way, one can easily gauge when his or her chain needs to be replaced, which can end up saving a lot of money in cassette replacement down the road.
The Park Tool chain wear indicator is more expensive than other off-brand chain wear indicators on 鶹, but in my opinion this one is worth the added expense. Most wear indicators on 鶹 test for a chain stretch of either 0.75 or 1%, but this one from Park Tool checks for 0.5 or 0.75% stretch instead. The 0.5% measurement is especially useful for chains that are designed for cassettes with more than 10 cogs, which includes a lot of road bikes. Unless one primarily rides something like a single-speed bike, the Park Tool is way more versatile.

5.0 out of 5 stars Se amortiza sola

5.0 out of 5 stars Herramienta indispensable

5.0 out of 5 stars Convenient tool
Verified PurchaseBought this tool to keep track of chain wear. Previously I had been using my vernier calipers but this is just so much more convenient. Its designed on one side to indicate 0.5% wear and on the other side to indicate 0.75% wear. The idea being you change your chain when its 0.5% worn but no more than 0.75% worn. It works perfectly on my Shimano Ultegra R8000 11 speed drive train setup. Robust, well designed and well made like all Park Tool products.
