Product description

Ultra Clear (All Accounts) - 2x 180g Ultra Clear vinyl, 12" Gatefold sleeve (standard finishing), 12p LP-Booklet (standard finishing), marketing sticker fifteen years in the making, GRAMMY®-winning, progressive music titans Dream Theater return with their sixteenth studio album, Parasomnia. The album marks the first album featuring the iconic lineup of vocalist James LaBrie, guitarist John Petrucci, bassist John Myung, keyboardist Jordan Rudess and drummer Mike Portnoy since 2009's Black Clouds & Silver Linings. The album was produced by Petrucci, engineered by James 'Jimmy T' Meslin, and mixed by Andy Sneap. Hugh Syme returns once again to lend his creative vision to the cover art. From the opening track "In The Arms Of Morpheus" to the closer of "The Shadow Man Incident," Dream Theater returns with a collection of songs that showcase what has earned the band a loyal following for four decades. Clocking in at 71 minutes, Parasomnia takes the listener on a musical journey that has become synonymous with the band since the beginning of their career.

Best album since Black Clouds and Silver Lininigs. Highly recommended.
5 out of 5 stars
Best album since Black Clouds and Silver Lininigs. Highly recommended.
It's been 16 years since Black Clouds and Silver Linings. Parasomnia gave me the same level of musical bliss. This is a loose common theme concept album that I consider very interesting musically and lyrically. Just as the other aforementioned album 16 years ago, that has amazing songs like Shattered Fortress, A Nightmare to Remember, The Count of Tuscany and Best of Times - this new album Parasomnia showcases the almost insane technical/ virtuoso proficiency of all band members, creating music with genuine emotionally charged lyrical and harmonic depth. My favourite song is the epic oeuvre/ last album song The Shadow Man Inicident- reminiscent of The Count of Tuscany or Nightmare to Remember or Sacrificed Sons. Very refreshing to hear some latin vibes in Jordan Rudess' inspired keyboard jam. I also loved the songs Night Terror and Bend the Clock - both songs are very intense and captivating. Original drummer Mike Portnoy is back and the band benefited completely. DT definitely didn't sound or feel creatively the same without him. I first listened to the album first on Spotify and then ordered 2 CDs- one for myself and one to gift to a young fan for her upcoming birthday. Highly recommended.

Mike Portnoy is back with the group for thew first time in 14 years. Is there a difference? Probably.
One thing that didn't change is John Petrucci doing all the production [and John Myung not saying much during promotional interviews!]
The 2CLP consists of the 71 minute album.

Huge fan of Portnoy. So when I heard he was back with DT, I had to buy this album.

It doesn't disappoint either. Dream theater is back to the older days.

Portnoy’s return is a dream come true for longtime fans. The new album is energetic, emotional, and feels like a return to form. Powerful, nostalgic, and a must-have for any Dream Theater follower.
