    This painted drain strainer is quite durable, having the longest-lasting finish of all of the other sink drains we have previously ordered for our hammered copper 60-40 farm-style sink. Assuming you have a garbage disposal, from experience, we suggest the drain stainer be removed when discarding caustic liquids like bleach or coffee maker cleaner, cleaning paint brushes, draining boiling wastewater (pasta, potatoes, etc), or if gritty cleansers are in use when manually scrubbing pots and pans.
