The Paddle Switch Box by POWERTEC.

This emergency safety switch is intended to provide you with a high quality safeguarding component for your workshop and power tool needs. It features a simplistic, yet straightforward design that can be easily wired (installed) into deep gang boxes or standard boxes with an extension ring.

The box has 2 throws so one can switch both hot and neutral or both phases of a 230V line. It’s large profile is showcased with a set of color coded start & stop features. The large red emergency stop paddle is conveniently sized for workflow visibility. In addition, the green start button can be locked with a cable lock for added safety measures.

    This does not fit in a standard cast electrical box. Standar box is not deep enough to accomodate the contact block. Nothing wrong with the switch if you have an electrical box deep enough to accept it.

    It's wist to read others' reviews, even though the reviews appear to discuss a number of different models. with and without the "off" paddle, and with varying types of wire terminals on the back. On this actual switch the terminals are screw-only, like on regular receptacles, though smaller. The switch I replaced had spade terminals; this one does not. I felt that connecting stranded wires to the terminals would not be secure because they are so small. Also, the terminals don't have the square washers that the wires would fit under. Instead I connected forked crimp-on connectors to the wires, and fit the forks under the screw heads. The wiring diagram among the product pictures shows this type of crimp connector. Luckily I have a good assortment of crimp connectors and a good crimping tool.
    I down-rated one star for the lack of terminal washers that good light switches and receptacles have. The switch fit into a single-gang blue plastic old-work box (just barely) when I added a 1/2 inch extension. I had to bend the forked connectors 90 degrees back to fit the box.

    Decent quality switch for the money, but mounting in a box is a nightmare:
    No wiring diagram included (though he writeup says there is one provided), you have to ring out the terminals with a meter to determine configuration
    Mounting hole spacing is not to US standard, switch will not fit a US deep box without modification. Had to drill/file switch holes to allow it to fit, then supply my own long 6-32 screws since those supplied are the wrong diameter, thread and length
    Had to use washers as spacers between the box and cover to allow for switch movement. Since the mounting screws go through the cover, switch yoke and my added spacer washers, it is exteremely difficult to mount the switch in the box.
    Screws supplied are useless, thread is not 6-32 (US standard) and are too short. I don't understand why nuts and lockwashers are provided since they serve no function
    It took a couple of frustrating hours to get everything assembled, should have been a 5 minute job.
    All in all, very difficult to install. If you're not a VERY handy person with problem solving skills and ,a good assortment of tools, I would pass on this switch. Might be OK in Asian markets but certainly not in the US.
