The guitar power activation has a hard time registering but I find to have your PS4 at high put like stomach high level. The one thing I hate about this guitar is that when you have no oil on your hands, the guitar becomes grippy and it becomes a hassle to play and it feels like you’re getting blisters on your thumb when you’re trying to strum.

    I purchased this to use with the PS5, to bring back some nostalgia. Years ago I was huge into Guitar Hero, and this brought back that familiar feel. I love that you can use it with both Fortnite Festival and Rock Band 4 on the PS5. And I love the fact that I can expose my children to a similar experience to what we fell in love with in the early 2000s. I'd love for them to bring back more music-playing games. In the meantime, this will do.

    I was admittedly stupid and bought this one thinking it wouldnt matter due to them both having a USB dongle included in the box, but alas. I will write a review for the Xbox one when it arrives :)

    I’m so glad they remade this guitar for the newer consoles. I haven’t tried it on anything but fortnite festival but it works perfectly there. my only complaint is the lack of games you can use it in but it’s otherwise super fun

    It doesn't work with festival, I thought both would be compatible with PC but they are not. This is ONLY a playstation guitar.

    The overdrive is assigned to d pad which is hard to reach if you have small hands and easy to end up in a menu. The tilt requires you to practically spin the whole guitar to work, so you should expect to miss notes just trying to use it unless you can reach that d-pad or are particularly practiced already. Frustrating design!

    The glossy finish is also a fingerprint magnet, why did they go with this choice 👀

    Love the foldable design though, and that a joystick was added for navigating other parts of the game.

    The Riffmaster guitar made by PDP is simply one of the best guitars I've ever owned. It feels sturdy even though it's lightweight, the frets are good (even though it's a pain to hit HOPO's) and the strum bar is excellent - fast alt strumming is so much easier now (I was playing songs with sections like this on RB4 - Black Magic, Heir Apparent etc) and I hardly broke my x4 multiplier when I have using GH/RB strats guitars in the past.

    There are a couple of nitpicks of course - the whammy bar is springy and if you go to far down with it it can catch the pause button and if you're going for a FC it can mess you up, and also sometimes the strum bar doesn't register standard speed alt strums. The ability to choose between PS4 and PS5 is awesome, and the fact it's totally wireless (up to 40 hours on a single charge) is a welcome plus, saves having to scout for 2 AA batteries every time.

    I think PDP have done a fab job with this but I think if they make more of these down the line maybe they should cure the original faults this one has even though there aren't many. Overall, a bloody amazing guitar and I'm having so much fun with it.

    Works great on pcsx2 with guitar hero and rock band. Only problem: must bind whammy and tilt to a button. And the strum is rock band style, so no ‘click’ on each strum like the old guitar hero controllers. Absolutely worth it for nostalgia, the feel is great once you get used to it.
