I love outdoor lights and wanted an alternative to screwing ever more hooks into our wooden stockade style backyard fence to suspend them with. These light posts were great for my string hanging needs!
They came carefully packaged, and are easily assembled: just screw together the number of poles you want. Each pole segment (there are 4 per pole) is a bit under a yard long, so the max height is WAY tall! I was busily putting the parts together on the ground without paying much attention to the aggregate length that was developing, and cracked up laughing once I hefted a completed pole to its [towering!] height -- for us, to nestle behind our 6-foot backyard fence without getting our lights into the neighbors' sight line, 2 posts were just right.
We used the ground stake option to install them; the spikes slid in smoothly and felt sturdy underfoot.
I think the only addition I could suggest is a way to hold the light string firmly in place at each hook -- it's easy enough to rig a homemade option together with velcro or zipties, I suppose, but if a little fastener option was available on the u-shaped support hooks, that would help hold the string more taut and look nicer overall.
