the book is quite clear and explain many concepts about wing shooting. enjoyed reading it even it is a bit long at time
for a beginner like me it was really ok even if I would guess an experienced shooter would still learn a few things here and there

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for those learning to shoot
Verified PurchaseBook is quality and has nice feel. Was looking for a simple book to help teenage grandkids learn to shoot. So many books are overly technical but this one strikes the right balance. What really helps is each topic is only about a page and has a picture. That format and flow really helps a young person stay engaged with the book

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book for the Beginner
Verified PurchaseI have the "same" book from Orvis for fly fishing, and I love it. So I picked this book up after I began upland hunting and am equally impressed. I only wish that I had bought it sooner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Orvis is quality even in books !
Verified PurchaseAs expected , this volume covers all concerns about shotgunning. To even include an entire chapter on gun dogs. Book looks good. Has quality paper and cover and is featuring pleasing colors and multiple pictures. Hours of entertaining discussion and training for the beginner shotgunner ( like me ) and the seasoned.

5.0 out of 5 stars The writing style is excellent for instruction
Verified PurchaseThe writing style is excellent for instruction. Clear, repetitive when the point is a major one, more relaxed when the point is a minor one. I thoroughly enjoyed even the sections about types of shooting I'm not interested in, like duck hunting. Not everyone is fortunate enough to learn this while growing up. Not everyone can learn from a mentor. For the self-driven shooter starting out alone, this packs a punch of information.
