    Worked perfectly for my application of removing lower control arms from the knuckle on a 2004 Mazda 6. This car has a unique design the balljoints are tapered fit into a sleeve which sits in the knuckle, taking the sleeve off is easier but then it needs to be removed from the control arm. This made he job easiest possible and did it better than a pickle for or any other removal tool. Great purchase.

    To pull the steering knuckle from the front lower control arms, every YouTube video on this year and model car recommends prying the aluminum cast steering knuckle apart. I used a pry bar and didn’t have much luck in the tight space of the fender well. I bought a cheap “steering knuckle spreader”. Finally, I used this and I slowly cranked it with a 3/4” wrench and it smoothly worked the stud of the ball joint out of the steering knuckle. It didn’t reach all the way so I put a socket between the bolt of the spreader and the ball joint stud just to add some length and it eventually pushed the ball joint all the way out. This was worth every dollar. I had another, much larger ball joint press but it was too large to fit behind the steering knuckle and this worked perfectly.

    Bought this to work on my 2001 Suburban but had to use it on my sister's 98 Suburban. Bad Pitman arm. That setup is pretty tight so our other puller wouldn't fit. Got this one in place and it fit perfectly and popped the arm out of the center link with no strain!

    This product is solid and well built with a great price. However, as with ANY threaded puller, make sure you add a good lubricant to the threads before you use it. It does ship with a preservative oil on them but it needs a good coating of lube before each use to ensure no damage to the threads of the screw or body of the tool. Do that and this unit will give you a long and good service life!

    Holy crap. I had a 60 year old ball joint fused to the steering knuckle on my 65 Mustang. I heated, soaked with PB Blaster and pounded the crap out of for the better part of a week. I also tented a a pickle fork from the auto parts store. Nothing seemed to work. I bought this thing on a leap of faith. Delivered in less than 24 hours. First attempt, the stud was separated in less than. 5 minutes. I would have paid $100 for this thing knowing how much frustration and time it would have saved me.

    What made my case special as that I ended up cutting the castle nut off because it was trash. So I had no exposed stud in which to use the “ordinary” separator tools. This thing was magical.

    This tool does what it is designed to but, based on my experience, take a little extra time when using to not damage any of the parts being removed. The bolt on the tool will damage the threads of the ball joint you are trying to release, so be careful if you plan to reuse the ball joint. I learned the hard way that leaving the nut on the ball joint’s threads to protect the bolt will prevent damage. The threads on the tool’s bolt tend to stick but a light coat of lubricant helps. Much better than using a pickle fork.

    I received my tool on yesterday open it up today to work on my vehicle and I’ve removed the rearward control arm, but I was not successful on removing the bushing from the control arm that goes into the knuckle. After the first attempt the attempt the cast-iron snapped, very weak tool and was not effective. I hated that I wasted my money.
