All of our grains for our flours are locally grown on our farm in Ontario. All of our flours are "cold milled" (single pass milling) with no heat damage to the flour. The flour is then sifted and packaged in kraft paper flour bags. Fresh Acres' Bread Flour is milled from Organic Hard Red Spring Wheat.   2. Our story starts from a childhood dream to be a farmer. Leevi grew up in King City close to the big city of Toronto but still far enough away that farm fields still were a part of the local landscape. Exploring the local farm fields and watching the process of growing food intrigued young Leevi.

  3. Leevi’s first experience with farming was at a local horse farm at the age of 9 helping around the stables. At 12 he worked at a sheep farm. At 17 it was cattle and hay.

    A few years later he started his own farm business growing edible organic field crops like spelt, hemp and oats. It wasn’t until 2018 that we planted our first fields of beans. It was around this time that the farm business got rebranded to Fresh Acres.

  4. An integral part of the farm operation is our commercial grain cleaning line that consists of several machines. This allows us to maintain high quality food standards.

    Being a first generation farming family comes with its challenges but with the support of local farmers and extensive research the farm has slowly expanded to what it is today.

  5. Ever since their first child was born in 2016, Leevi and Vanessa have been sharing the farm lifestyle with their family. As the business has grown so has the family and now they get to share the farming experience with 6 sons!

    Fresh Acres today is an Organic family farm dedicated to providing delicious and nutritious pantry items for Canadians.
