Very light in weight
As others have indicated, the gauge is very light in weight and will not stand on its own when measuring blade height. I added a piece if 1/16" metal to the bottom with 3M automotive tape so that it will have enough weight to stand alone when measuring blade height allowing use of both hands to make any necessary adjustments.

    this is a great little tool. After several attempts at using a ruler to level the deck from side to side, I purchased this little tool. Works great, easy peasey..Only complaint would be its plastic, fairly light weight..have to be careful using it. Maybe a bit of metal in the base would make it more solid. But it does the job its intended on doing, just have to be mindful that its plastic and can break easily..

    It is a very useful tool that circumvents using a tape measure which would be a pain. You could also use a piece of cardboard cut to the height you wanted. If this tool was weighted, it would be perfect. But the weight bearing down on the arm, upsets the tool. But it is easy to add weight to the base. While adjusting, you can see the height of the blades go up and down which is extremely convenient rather than adjusting and checking back admins forth. Once adjusted,
    my lawn tractor and zero turn do a super job! I wouldn’t own a lawn tractor or zero turn with out one of these tool!

    Much easier levelling the deck and checking the blades for bends. Check on a level surface side to side, and turn the blade 180 degrees around to make sure they are true...just done in minutes now.
    Minus 1 star for the base being light. I will glue some washers to it to weigh it down. The spring force overcomes the measuring arm and it lifts off the ground.

    Do you actually level your deck? Then you need this, or something similar. Who wants to lay on the ground with a tape measure? This works great, and I was able to set my deck height properly, as well as used it to determine my rake angle, and dial that in, too.
    If you take your mower seriously, you need to level your deck, and this tool will help with that. It works great. I only wish it had a weighted base plate, but that's a minor gripe that would probably add $20+ to the cost, so this is a very fair tradeoff. Super easy to use, and super durable. Don't pass this up, especially if it's on sale.
