I bought this set for my daughter and she has been playing with it for the past 48hours ignoring her other toys. I am going to base my review on these factors: ease of assembling, the necessary addition, what i found disappointing. 1. Ease of assembling: it took my husband close to 1 hour to assemble. The pieces are color coded so that makes it easier but we had to switch some pieces around for them to fit well. Don’t try forcing them as they could crack under pressure, keep moving them around till they fill right 2. It is not battery powered so make sure to buy a separate battery powered one. I bought one that fit well with this set. 3. The big disappointment for me was that amongst the figurines provided: there was no girl. There is a man, woman, boy and station manager but no girl! And my daughter kept asking for one. Makes me wonder if thé manufacturers don’t expect girls to play with the set. Apart from this drawback, it’s a super awesome gift!

    My overall rating would have been 5 stars except the first order had some small rough ends. However, the customer service was very prompt, efficient and they rectified the difficulty very quickly which impressed me alot. This is an excellent product which is superior in density to others whose wooden toys are inferior and not reasonably priced. The dual use/storage box tunnel is a clever innovation to save space and provide incentive for the kid to clean up the wooden tracks and trains.     I bought this train (track) set for my 18mo, since I did not know how much he would actually play with it and did not want to spend double on one of the "branded" ones. The set is amazing and comes with so many add ons (Figurines, buildings, trees/bushes). It is also really cute how the storage box doubles as a tunnel (it's a bit out of proportion big, but it's cute nonetheless). The quality is fantastic and is compatible with all the major train brands. The only small area for improvement (but not enough to change my rating) is that the figurines are really too big compared to the train etc. This might be for safety considerations (although some other pieces are very small and I've kept them away from my toddler). It would be nice if they could actually fit under the roof of the train station.
