It is illegal to have The real one check your local laws I know where I used to live. It was illegal. And now where I'm located, it's not. I'm not condoning that You should just buy this because you're gonna buy one. I'm just saying for practice sake, it's definitely worth it.

If I'm reviewing as price to value 5 stars. If I'm reviewing as a balisong in general I would probably say 3 stars. I'll start with the positive. The spring loaded latch is a very cool feature to have on this cheap of a knife and is the main reason I got it. The length of the handles is perfect in my opinion making aerials easy to catch and helps with rolls, one more thing is the color looks great in person. I was going to sand it to bear metal but the color is very nice.. There's nothing extremely bad so far but here are my negatives; The blade is to short in my opinion but is not a big deal, It comes fairly stiff and is slow to flip but after about 2 hours it starts to get ideal or you could oil it if you wanted. If I'm really looking for bad things about this knife id say the inside of the handles to scratch your hand but its not that often and don't hurt but I do notice. My biggest complaint is the same with any cheap balisong is the latch got loose for the open position in just an hour of flipping. This should be expected in any cheap balisong though so i was not dissapointed. Overall this is a great knife for the value and looks amazing when you show off to friends. I'd recomend it to anyone and would argue to say this is the best bang for your buck as far as cheap balisongs go.

Feels great for the price point. Rainbow finish looks neat. Out of the box it is a bit stiff, but loosens up nicely after a brief time of flipping. Did not expect it to come in Benchmade packaging (blue box and fabric case, knock off to a popular Benchmade bali)

One complaint is that it is a tight fit to close and lock with the spring latch. This may loosen up over time though. Also, seems like it is fairly heavy(could be from fairly thick blade), though I don't really have much experience with other bali's to fully validate that.

Bottom line: for the price, a very good trainer

I just got this in the mail today and it is great. It looks exactly like the picture and is very solid and had a very good weight to it. It was a tad bit stiff but after playing with it for a while it loosened up perfectly. My only problem with it is after a couple hours of use the spring loaded latch on the bottom begins to get loose. What I mean by this is when you go to latch to handles together the latch comes undone. I was able to fix this by taking out the little spring in the handle and the latch works perfect now, except being a little noisier.

For $12 this is probably the best butterfly trainer you could possible buy. It's solid, strong, and looks cool.

I love the trainer for the decent quality it was along with the unique color scheme to it in regards to my personal preference. Although, i'm giving this 3 stars because on day 1 of receiving and 1-3 hours into doing tricks, some screws fell out. I have to use loctite now to fix it. Another issue i have - since i'm still relatively new and uncomfortable with this style of balisong, the edges are pretty rough on my fingers so they pinch pretty hard on both the blades and the handles. Kinda wish all the edges were smoother or duller.
