    Was using the M5 tap in an aluminum engine block and the tap broke while trying to remove it after cutting the threads. I put oil in the hole and on the tap before hand and it broke off in the block making even more work so definitely be careful with these. Not sure how common it is for a tap to break off in the hole but I have a feeling I wouldn’tve had this issue with a a set from the hardware store.

    Ordered these because a screw on my Rockshox Lyric mountain bike fork had stripped out. I drilled out the original hole to the appropriate size and then retapped it as an m4. It was a pretty soft magnesium alloy, so I don’t know how they would perform with something harder but for my purposes it was great!
