The box comes sealed in plastic. There's no seal inside each tube, so when you open the caps, the paint is ready to be used. This oil paint set is nice to work with. The consistency is thick and the colors are vibrant. Working time is long so I they’re a lot easier to mix and blend compared to my acrylics. The 37 ml tubes also feels like a lot of paint so it will last a few projects.

Transitioning from acrylics to oils, I picked up this OAT ART STUDIO set, and it's been a pleasant surprise. The colors are beautifully rich and vibrant, with a creamy texture that's easy to work with. I found some YouTube tutorials helpful in adjusting to the new techniques required for oils. This set is a good size for experimenting with the medium, and it's always a bonus to learn with high-quality materials. The pigmentation is great. And there's hardly any odor.

I really liked these paints. There are a lot of comments in the reviews talking about how these paints are harder to clean up but that is just the nature of this paint base type. I find the colours vibrant but more than anything I love the beautiful textures this paint can build to achieve. All the paint arrived in great condition, nothing is dried out. All of the colours are beautifully and brightly pigmented. I would definitely recommend.

The paint itself is nice and creamy, with very little grit as some cheaper paints would have. They are opaque and mix well with the knife. The tubes are amply large with enough paint for a couple of medium sized projects. Best of all, the odor on these is almost non-existent.
With a set of colors like these, I think it's time to grab some canvas and break out the oil brushes again!

These paints have plenty of pigment, and the colors are nice.
They are smooth, thick, and mix well. I think you should be able to mix pretty much any color from this set.
A crimson may be a valuable addition for a starter set.

The price is a fraction of the top brands, so very good value here.

My kids love to paint and recently got a whole stack of canvasses to paint. They’re used to using acrylic paint but I wanted to give them something new to try.

This set comes with all the basic colors you need to get started. It doesn’t come with a bunch of colors like acrylic sets can, but this paint has the perfect consistency for mixing and creating your own colors. The paint looks creamy and smooth and applies nicely to the canvass.

My kids have fun using it, but I’m not sure they could tell the difference in paint. It’ll be nice to have it in our art supplies if we ever need it. I would get this set again.

As someone who’s pretty new to the world of oil painting, I was really excited to get my hands on this Artists' Oil Colors. Firstly, the packaging is very no-nonsense, sleek and professional-looking — which immediately game me the impression that this was a quality product.
The set contains 12 tubes, each with 37 ml or 1.25 oz of paint. While I'm not entirely sure what the significance of this volume is in terms of oil painting — for a professional — it seems like a decent amount of paint for someone like me who's just starting out. I think that there's enough paint in each tube for me to experiment and explore various techniques without feeling limited or running out too soon.
Maybe it’s naive, but being labeled as "Professional Grade,” instilled confidence in me in the quality of the paints. Oat Art Studio is a known brand in the world of paints and brushes; and as someone not well-versed in the intricacies of oil painting, I was reassured to learn that. It also made me feel that I would be working with paints that met the standards of professional artists.
The inclusion of gold among the colors was thrilling. I immediately saw the Gustav Klimt paintings in all their luscious and luxurious gold leaf — the Woman in Gold, The Kiss, The Tree of Life, others. Not that I could reproduce these paintings, but I was excited to imagine even the hint of the possibility of creating rich, luminous artwork.
These oil paints are vibrant, pigmented, and long-lasting, characteristics that are essential for creating impactful artworks.

I have been painting in oil for about 7 years and usually use "Artist" grade paints vs "Student" grade. This package contains 12 unsealed metal tubes that contain 1.25 ounces (37ml) of oil paint that they are calling "Professional" grade. I was anxious to try them out and see how I liked them.

The set includes most of the "standard" colors - burnt umber, ultramarine blue, cobalt blue, cadmium red, yellow ochre, lemon yellow and titanium white. There are a few colors that wouldn't be in a usual starter set - light green, gold, orange-yellow and mid-yellow. The yellows in an "Artist" grade are usually Cadmium-based and the green is usually darker - like Viridian or Pthalo.

The paints are produced with a linseed oil base and each tube is marked with the pigment number. Each tube is also marked with a scale for lightfastness, with most being +++. Cadmium Red, Ultramarine Blue and Orange Yellow are only ++. All tubes also show the opacity level for that particular color - from opaque to transparent (see photo of label).

None of the tubes have oil separation, which is nice because that can be so messy! The consistency of these paints are very creamy/silky. The lighter body made them very easy to use and mix. Compared to my usual paints, which tend to be thicker, these were so fun to use... the paint just sort of glided onto the canvas. I think these would be great for a beginner and would make oil painting so much more approachable and fun. The Gold (metallic) is an unexpected color and was fun to play with. The large tube sizes will last a while and this set is a good value.

While I think these paints are fine to start with, ensuring lightfastness of various hues might require you to upgrade to "Artist" quality paints.

They need to be cleaned carefully to maintain the quality of your painting/art brushes. I used a brush cleaner (soap) & hot water and the brushes were just like new after using them to paint with this oil color paints. As a bonus this paint set also includes a beautiful, shimmering, metallic gold color to accentuate your paintings and other art projects. The gold is gorgeous on black paper. I was very pleased with this product and would recommend it to anyone interested in learning to oil paint or artists looking to expand their existing paints.
