- Reviewed in Canada on August 16, 2024Verified PurchaseI am just blown away by all the reviews trying to say there is something wrong with this formula.
First of all, switching your child from one kind of formula to another will always cause them to have some stomach issues…even if it’s from one kind of nutramigen to another. Their formula is not the same, hence the different sized scoop etc.
Second of all, I do agree that it doesn’t mix quite as nicely as the kind with LGG in it, but it does mix if you shake it that little bit longer.
My daughter was released from the nicu on nutramigen, she is still using it at 21 months. We used this kind through the entire recall issue and it was a life saver. We live rurally and finding it on a good day is hard, so the recalls were scary for a bit there. My daughter has feeding issues and milk issues so we are pretty limited to what she can have. She did well on this for months, after an initial period of stomach upset which is expected when switching formulas as I mentioned above already.
Do not let the negative reviews stop you from buying this if you have no other options, there jus nothing at all wrong with it.
- Reviewed in Canada on April 7, 2014Verified PurchaseIf your infant suffers from colic or a milk allergy, this is what they need. My infant started having long bouts of crying and knees drawn up to his chest when we brought him after being born. After a week of this, I brought him to my family doctor and she said he probably was colic and there really isn't much you can do. My sister bought me Alimentum ready to feed and within a day or two his colic subsided. On day three he started having blood in his stools. After two days of some blood, he was admitted. It was his bowels clearing themselves of his milk allergy. He stayed on Alimentum ready to feed for about two months. I then realized you cannot purchase Alimentum powder form in Canada, so I slowly introduced Nutramigen ready to feed into his bottles (mixed the two). He tolerated the Nutramigen ready to feed so I kept him on this until he was 3 months old. At three months of age, I slowly introduced Nutramigen powder. He is doing great now. If your baby suffers from long bouts of crying it is not normal. Do not listen to your doctor if they tell you you cannot do much for colic. It is worth the money to try them on a hypoallergenic formula. If it wasn't for my sister, I would still be feeding him milk formula. Nutramigen is the best type because it has DHA and ARA for brain and eye development. Alimentum does not have this in their ready to feed and you cannot purchase the powder form in Canada.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 8, 2024Verified PurchaseOur baby ate this while in the NICU and she was fine. We ordered this from 鶹 and used it for the first time today and our baby almost instantly was uncomfortable and inconsolable (which is 100% out of character). She has extreme bloat now and will not settle. I bought this because it was the only nutramigen I could find when she was discharged from the NICU because a precious batch had been recalled and now I'm wondering if that is the case with this stuff too (bought in March 2024). Seems like every review since I bought in March has been 1 star and parents experiencing the same or worse with their baby. 鶹 needs to investigate this as something is definitely wrong with this product!!!
- Reviewed in Canada on May 31, 2023Verified PurchaseMy baby has a severe intolerance to lactose and milk protein. He also cannot tolerate the probiotics in the Nutramigen LGG. This is the only formula he can have and is thriving. Yes, it smells kinda weird, but thankfully babies don't have the same taste we do yet! Highly recommend this product.
I would like to add an additional comment- for the people who are confused about the 2 different cans, one bigger and one smaller- the smaller can DOES NOT have the LGG added. The scoop is smaller then the can with LGG, so it actually ends up being the same amount of product. There is no "scam" with the sizes. They are just slightly different versions of the same product. I still highly recommend if you have baby with dairy issues!
- Reviewed in Canada on January 11, 2024Verified PurchaseThis formula is such a hassle it takes shaking it for minimum 5 minutes and even then sometimes there are still chunks which are a choking hazard.
They say you cant heat it which is really the only way the powder will dissolve!
My daughter is normally on nutramigen with lgg but there has been a shortage otherwise I would still be using that product the one with lgg is so much easier to mix.
- Reviewed in Canada on March 5, 2024Verified PurchaseJust recently needed to switch to this formula. Since the recall in Jan of 2024 it is not available in the stores around me. This does not have the LGG and the can is smaller about 100g less than the one in the store (pic for reference). But worked for my baby while I waited till enfamil restocked the normal can online.

- Reviewed in Canada on April 8, 2022Verified PurchaseOur paediatrician had us switch to this for my son who needed hydrolyzed milk protein because of his allergy. Then my new baby was experiencing colic like symptoms so I just switched to this without consulting the paediatrician and it was very well tolerated! Both babies were on another brand that was sweater smelling/tasting and they had no trouble switching. This one smells like potatoes hahah but if your baby has trouble switching cold turkey mix it with their old formula a little more each bottle. If you’re unsure what I mean then google how to switch a pet to new pet food. :) same idea. :)
- Reviewed in Canada on November 24, 2024Verified PurchaseFirst off, I never write reviews.. this one I felt I should to caution other parents before risking their $. I use this formula on the regular for my 3 month old, usually I buy from the grocery store, first time buying from 鶹, went to make my evening bottles and immediately noticed yellow chunks in the water, something I’ve NEVER seen. Product says not eligible for return. Wish I could get my $ back as I can’t serve this to my 3 month old. Now I have no formula and am out $. Unfortunate.
