This is our third baby gate we have purchased. One for each entryway to prevent our toddler from entering certain spaces. It works great and stays firmly in place. It’s a classic baby gate at a good price. It is a bit hard to click and unclick back into place but we leave ours up and don’t ever move it. We just climb over it every time. I wouldn’t recommend if you were going to be moving the gate multiple times a day as it is difficult to maneuver back in.

    This baby gate is a total piece of garbage. It is rickety and flimsy, not sturdy at all. Structurally, the gate is weak, and functionally, it does not stay in the doorway securely.
    𝑀𝑎𝑦𝑏𝑒 this gate might be appropriate to stop a small baby. I would not trust it for even a toddler, and certainly not for medium- or large dogs.
    The adjustable mechanism is a bar with a series of pre-set notches that a metal lock bar ratchets into. It is a bad mechanism and not intuitive. If the doorway is a width that is between two of the pre-set notches, the gate will not work at all.
    I will be returning this product immediately and looking for a similar and better gate. I would not recommend this product to anyone at all, ever.

This product is cost efficient PROVIDED you use a wall protector. So the cost of this gate plus the wall protector is still less vs other gates that are too expensive. No drilling on our walls and lightweight too which is why its easy to install. I don’t worry at all with my 16 month old son leaning on this its very stable. Overall we’re satisfied with this product.

    We bought this to put at the bottom of the stairs to stop our young puppy and our little granddaughter gong up the stairs. It is identical to what we used for many years when our own children were young except now the gate is not solid wood, it's lighter and I would say not suitable for a household with older children and larger pets, but will do the job I needed it for so ok. I would have paid more to have it made from real solid wood as it was previously, they survived years of growing children and larger dogs and frequent taking off and on - this ones going to stay up as I doubt it would take the same off/on pressure. It is adequate for small pets and very young children.

    This gate is much less sturdy than expected. The sides twist when you're trying to expand it to get a snug fit and then the horizontal piece ends up digging into the door frame instead of the rubber bits.

    It works for what we need it to, but they definitely need to make some design improvements. I had a similar style gate years ago and it was significantly better. The one plus I have is that it's easy to take down and put up. Do NOT buy this for the stairs, it would not be safe. It's sufficient to block a doorway.

    I got this gate because my dog and the dog we're currently fostering haven't been getting along, and I needed a way to separate them at times without totally shutting one in another room or crating them. This is perfect. I was worried that it'd be too hard to set up, because I vaguely remember never being able to figure these out when I babysat. But it only took a few minutes. I agree with other people that it'd be a good idea to mark the correct notch (my door was 30 inches). Careful not to force the wood lever thing or it'll snap (this didn't happen to me, I could just see how it could happen). This was up in a few minutes and was very sturdy.

    The dogs are both labs, so I was afraid they'd simply jump over it, but they didn't! I just put one in the other room (with a clear sight-line to us), calmly locked the gate into place, said "stay here," and walked away. The foster dog didn't move at all.

    I will say that if you plan to have to cross this a lot, then I'd probably spring for the bolt-in ones that are a bit more permanent. This one would get annoying to step over all the time and/or to dismantle a lot. But if you're looking to use it sporadically or in an out-of-the-way room, I recommend this one! And you can't beat the price.

    This gate requires common sense, not instructions. There is no sense in down-grading their rating for this reason. Why does toothpaste have instructions? People like you, who lack common sense and basic problem-solving skills.

    The height is better than the taller Evenflo model, because even at 5'4" it is still possible to step over the gate, even while holding a laundry basket. We've had this gate set up on the stairs (prior to setting up a permanent gate) and it is possible to step over the gate and down one step without issue.

    Bear in mind that the bottom corners must be placed above floor molding so that all four rubber nubs have equal pressure against the wall. Even with the added height, it is easy to step over. This is not the type of gate you want to unlock and replace every time you want to go by.

    We have permanently mounted gates in addition to these pressure gates since each gate has its own benefits. Permanently mounted gates are just that, you never intend to move them, just pass through. If you go this route, be prepared to use the screws they provide since they are not strong enough to hold back toddlers without the extra reinforcement.

    These pressure gates are for blocking off an open slider (the nubs fit into the slider so it is impossible to dislodge) or the kids' bedroom during play time. We also use them on the front door when we are looking for a cool breeze.

    After a few weeks you will notice that the metal leaves marks in the commonly used settings, so it is quicker to install over time.
