Product Description

NA-STPG1 Header

The NA-TPG1 is a simple yet highly effective means to preclude thermal paste build-up in the cut-outs of the heatspreader of AMD AM5 CPUs. When the mounting pressure of the cooling solution is applied, excess thermal paste will be squeezed outwards. With AM5 CPUs, this excess paste tends to accumulate in the cut-outs at the sides of the heatspreader and may become difficult to remove. Simple to apply, the NA-TPG1 prevents this undesired phenomenon. Combined with the ten included NA-CW1 cleaning wipes, the NA-STPG1 set gives you everything you need to keep your AM5 processor clean.

NA-STPG1 installation

Installation:

Put the NA-TPG1 thermal paste guard onto the CPU to prevent the build-up of excess thermal paste in the cut-outs of the heatspreader.

NA-STPG1 orientation

Caution:

Make sure that the inner opening of the guard is correctly aligned with the outer edges of the heatspreader.

Of course, the NA-TPG1 is made from highly heat-resistant polycarbonate and can withstand temperatures of up to 130°C.

The short story is it works. Thermal paste shouldn't be conductive anyway but it cant hurt to use a preventer like this so it doesn't get squished down passed your IHS. The only recommendation I'd give Noctua would be use a colored plastic instead of clear. It can be really hard to see it, which means triple checking it did in fact sit around the cpu and didn't get bumped and is actually ontop of the cpu instead of around it. My photo attached shows the mask in place, as you can see (ha) it's really hard to see where it's sitting. Overall would still recommend, I've done 2x ryzen builds with it to date.

    This fit perfectly, so no worry about Thermal Paste getting into the notches on the AM5 CPUs so no mess. Not sure if its the reason but everyone is getting 95c on Stressing the CPU mine only goes to 87c so only thing I can think of is this guard. The wipes that they include with it are great as well. Will buy again for sure.
