Product description

Most video games require players to focus their attention on a screen. Now Nintendo brings the action into the living room with Wii Party, a game that changes the way people interact with other players. Featuring 13 different party game modes and 70+ minigames, Wii Party can be enjoyed by everyone in the family, regardless of age. Some of the 13 different party game modes take the fun out of the TV and into the living room. Players have to interact with one another in the real world to get the results they want in the game. Some House Party games include: Players place four Wii Remote controllers on a table. Each one emits a different animal noise. Players win the round by being the first to grab the controller that is making the sound of the animal shown on the TV. Players use Wii Remote controllers to play hide and go seek. One player asks the other players to leave the room and then hides all of the controllers around the living room. When the other players return, they have to find them. Wii Party features Mii characters in minigames in which up to four people can play together. Each player uses only the Wii Remote controller. Some of the party game modes are cooperative, such as Balance Boat. Others are competitive, such as Board Game Island. In Board Game Island mode, players help their Mii characters compete in more than 70 different minigames: Mii characters ride a rollercoaster while players try to shoot down floating balloons containing gifts Players use their Wii Remote controllers to help Mii characters navigate a virtual game of tag. *For multiplayer modes, additional Wii Remote controllers are required and are sold separately.

My husband and I bought Wii Partydespite some bad reviews and we've never regretted it.
While some people find the games a little too simplistic, we've found them just the right game to while away the hot humid summer.
The variety of games are a lot of fun. If you're looking for something complicated and with a lot of nuances then look elsewhere.
We like the graphics, everything is easy to see and understand.
What we really like is that there are games for different lengths of time, with choices from 5-10 minutes long or 45-60 minutes long there is a game for however much time you have. Some of the games we've found quite addictive and are always saying just one more game. Spot the Sneak is a real favourite.

I think it would be a fun game to play with a variety of people young and old.
There are also games for one or two people. I think if you want to get children or grandparents involved in playing this is the game for you.
I also think that if you just want something to play that isn't sports or role playing adventure this is also for you.

My husband and I love it and come back to it often. You can make it as stimulating as you want it to be. Or you can make it as boring as you want it to be.
    Its all about the attitude.

If my teenage son were rating this Wii game, he would surely give it 5 stars. He loves it. I too enjoy playing it. To be precise, it is not just one game but an amazing array of mini-games. Some of them are easy to master, and others are quite difficult. My son clobbers me most of the time, but there are a few mini-games that I am better at. Personally, I do prefer Wii Sports Resort and Wii Sports to this Wii Party. But that is me (a codger of 55+, and ardent sports enthusiast). For young kids, this game offers hours and hours of enjoyment.

5.0 out of 5 stars How did I live without this!

Bought this for a recent party, and it made a great impression. We played many of the mini games but the favourite was Hide the Wii remote! Can't remember when I've had so much fun playing games at a party. Some advice for places to hide the remote are on top of the CD rack, in the washing machine detergent drawer, inside a cushion cover, inside the light fitting. We had the maximum 4 Wii remotes for this which makes it much better but getting people out of the room in order to hide the remotes was the hardest part.

There are many games included in Wii Party broken down into three sections depending on how many people you have playing and how long you wish to play each game. You can also play each of the 80+ mini games which can be as little as 2 minutes long. All depends on what you feel like. Would recommend having 4 Wii remotes though unless it's just you or you and one other (definitely 4 for 'hide the remote')

5.0 out of 5 stars Loads of fun for the kids or whole family!

I bought this game so that we would have something the kids or family could all play together beyond the Just Dance games, which have been the primary ones we've done together. Especially since it looked like something that would also be enjoyed by my younger kids as well, and Just Dance is a bit beyond them. (Doesn't stop them from trying, though!) So far, I haven't been disappointed with this! It's possible that it could get boring for a group of adults somewhat quickly, depending on the adults and their personalities, but my husband and I have enjoyed playing it by ourselves sometimes as well. And for kids or a family together, it's a lot of fun. Since that's what I bought it for, and what I expected it to be geared towards, it's definitely a five star game in my house.

It has a huge variety of mini games, all at varying degrees of difficulty, though none of them are so hideously hard that no one could do them. There's also some larger party games, which tend to use the mini games as a part of them. My older children (6 and 8) can play pretty much any of the games with no help, while my 3 year old needs help on some and can do some without any help. Honestly, even when they're not getting it quite right, the kids generally have fun.

You do need to be able to read to play this, or have someone in the room who can read, as all of the instructions and information are given in text, not recited for you. The graphics are comparable to Wii Fit (in terms of the games, not the personal instructors and their exercises). And it uses the Miis from the Wii, so much like any of the games who do, if you delete a Mii you'll lose them from this game as well. There are options with this game to play as just one player, two players, or up to four. If it's something that requires more people than just the one, two, or three, it'll add in a computer Mii, and you can choose the difficulty for that Mii.

One feature which I really like because it helps out anyone who might not have played the particular mini game before is the "practice" option. So before you actually play the mini game, you can have a practice round, which is great if one player has done it but not another. And great for those who don't quite have the confidence to jump in straight away without a bit of practice. Another neat feature, which threw off my oldest at first, was that it lists the approximate times for each of the games when you hover over them in the menu. So you have a general idea of how long it'll take.

Definitely a fun game, and definitely one I'd recommend for anyone looking for something fun for their children or the whole family!
