Adapt Nikon DSLR lenses to Z series mirrorless cameras.
The Mount Adapter FTZ II is the bridge between legendary NIKKOR glass and Z series mirrorless cameras, now with a streamlined design. It seamlessly adapts the F-Mount to the larger Z-Mount, retaining the image quality, autofocus performance*, weather sealing and comfortable handling of any mounted lens. Keep using the lenses you love with the most innovative camera bodies available. *Full AF/AE supported when using FX or DX AF-S Type G/D/E, AF-P type G/E, AF-I type D lenses and AF-S/AF-I Teleconverters.
No loss of image quality or speed.
There is no glass inside of Mount Adapter FTZ II, which means nothing gets between your lens and your image sensor. F-mount lenses retain all of their superb image quality with no loss of brightness, contrast or speed.
Stabilized by the camera body.
Experience fast aperture NIKKOR primes like the AF-S NIKKOR 105mm f/1.4E ED with up to 5 stops of 3-axis VR* image stabilization. NIKKOR lenses that already have VR, like the AF-S NIKKOR 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR, get the added benefit of roll axis for a total of 3-axis VR*. *When used on a Z series camera with in-body VR.
Streamlined design.
The streamlined design of the Mount Adapter FTZ II means comfortable shooting in any direction, including vertically. With no tripod mount of its own, it also accommodates wider tripod plates on your camera, the MB-N11 battery grip and WT-7A wireless transmitter.
Weather sealed. Durable.
Built from magnesium alloy, the Mount Adapter FTZ II is strong and lightweight with a durable finish. It's extensively weather-sealed to preserve the performance of pro-level cameras and lenses. And it makes a precise fit with the camera and lens, crucial for meticulous performance.
Works with so many lenses.
The Mount Adapter FTZ II works with approximately 360 F-mount lenses, over 90 of which retain full functionality. From fisheyes to perspective control lenses, fast primes to super telephotos, the Mount Adapter FTZ II brings so many possibilities to the Z series.

Slimmer design than the first model. Connects well, feels secure, autofocus etc. all work. If you can get some old lenses cheap, or if you have some and are thinking of upgrading to a Z, get yourself this adapter and enjoy! 5/5!?
This adaptor works great. I wanted to use my Nikon dslr lenses with my new Nikon Z mirrorless camera. It is a bit expensive but it does the trick. Not super heavy but it does add weight and size to the camera set up.
Not sure why these are so expensive without any glass in them but I guess it's better than replacing all of your perfectly good older mount lenses. It doesn't work with with my older sigma 150mm macro though so beware if you have non-nikkor lenses. It may not work with all of them
Nikon claims that: "The Mount Adapter FTZ lets you keep shooting the lenses you know and love while also gaining the benefits of the new Z system." Because of this claim, I moved to a Mirrorless camera.
I bought this adapter to use with a new Nikon Z8 and my original lenses: Nikon AF-S 16-35 mm F/4G, Nikon AF-S 700-200 mm f/2.8, and Nikon AF-S 200-500mm f/5.6.
This adapter worked without problems for four weeks, and then one day, while shooting a sunrise with the best light, I got the Error "Press the shutter-release button to reset" with my three AF-S lenses.
I tried various solutions, including cleaning contacts, removing battery, changing lenses, and resetting the camera to factory settings, but the issue persisted.
Upon removing the adapter, the error message disappeared, but my morning was lost.
I took my camera to the store, and they informed me this is a prevalent issue when using non-Nikon Z lenses with the adapter. The store suggested I should buy the "original" Z lenses instead.
I replaced the adapter with a new one, but I am disappointed to learn that this adapter has a common issue and likely will ruin another photoshoot session.
Something to think about if you are planning to move to a mirrorless camera using your AF-S lenses.
