This is perfect for protecting your New 3DS XL from everyday knocks and bangs. Designed to provide slim protection for the New 3DS XL, the Crystal Case measures only a few millimetres in thickness so you will hardly notice any added bulk to the slender design of the New 3DS XL. The simple snap on design of this tough polycarbonate case allows for easy installation and removal without causing damage to your New 3DS XL. The polycarbonate shell has all of the appropriate cutouts for the ports and features of your New 3DS XL.


The New Nintendo 3DS is a handheld game console developed by Nintendo in Japan. It is the fourth system in the Nintendo 3DS line of handheld consoles, following the original Nintendo 3DS, the Nintendo 3DS XL, and the Nintendo 2DS.

The system was released in Japan on October 11, 2014, in Australia and New Zealand on November 21, 2014, on January 6, 2015 in Europe. In North America (US & Canada), the New Nintendo 3DS XL was released on February 13, 2015

PLEASE NOTE: Due to its difference in size, this case is ONLY designed to fit the shape of the new Nintendo 3DS XL/LL and cannot be used with the earlier system.

I ordered 3 of these and 1 of them was hingeless as advertised (pictured) Not saying that's a bad thing (you get what you paid for) but it's better than nothing. For their price I'd say it's worth it for it's protection against everyday scuffs & blemishes (especially too if you have a limited edition model) Can't say yet for when you accidentally drop it but I can guarantee it. Installation wasn't too difficult but was definitely annoying to get on at first, other than that they grip the n3DS XLs very well. Adds a bit of bulk to them but that's nothing :) Sure it's price tag might be a little bit but if you're looking for maximum protection, these cases will do as such.
