Works exactly as I needed! I recently upgraded to a new OLED TV with only an optical audio output, but I wanted to keep using my Bose Companion 3 speakers — they still sound fantastic and I like the aesthetic. This device made it easy, and it was smaller than I expected. I also appreciate that it comes with a USB-C plug (with a USB-A adapter), making it versatile. It’s simple, straightforward, and just works. Hoping it holds up over time, but so far, the quality has been great.

Convert Digital Audio of TV to Analog
The Neoteck 192kHz Digital to Analog Converter is exactly the accessory I was looking for to connect a sound-bar, portable speaker or headphones to my flat screen TV. Connecting the Converter: One end of optical cable connects to the Optical In of the Converter and the other end connects to the Optical Out of the TV. The phono cable connects to the Audio Out of the Converter and the Audio In of a sound-bar, portable speaker or headphones (there is no Bluetooth connectivity here, just wired). Then USB-C cable connects to the USB-C In of the Converter and the USB-A Out of the TV or other power source. Configuring TV: I had to go into the settings of my TV and enable Sound Output to Audio Out/Optical and Digital Audio Out to PCM. Once this is done, everything should work, but not exactly. Compatibility due to copy protection: The one thing to know is that streaming movies from an online service such as Netflix will have copy protection and the audio may not work. When Netflix is launched on a TV from the installed apps, no sound, but if you launch Netflix from a computer, in my case Windows 10, works fine. I don’t understand how the copy protection is different from a builtin in TV app vs the same app on a computer, but that’s what I discovered. So be aware of this as other streaming services will probably be the same. This Converter does work fine, just depends what you are trying to watch and from where. Installation and configuration took a few minutes and the sound output is good on my speakers, so much better than from my TV. There is a volume button on the Converter that allows you to adjust volume if needed.
