Love the detergent but not the tin
Same as the Nellies you get in smaller containers. I do find that I need more than it recommends but it is still a fairly good price for a Made in Canada low ingredient detergent. I do find that it works for regular loads but for his work clothes, it is just not quite as tough as our other detergent. That being said, the tin on this is not ideal. It came dented and so is difficult to open (and almost impossible if your hands are damp). I have an old 50 load tin that is in better shape years later than this one. It feels really thin and is quite deep so you will have to dig down into the slimmer tin once it gets low.

We just finished a 1000 load bucket of Nellie’s laundry soda detergent so I was happy to receive this 125 load tin. This detergent is the only one our family uses and is an absolute staple. This Nellie’s detergent is a detergent with only 4 ingredients: Sodium Carbonate, Linear Alcohol Ethoxylate, Sodium Chloride, and Sodium Metasilicate. I checked on the 4 ingredients and sodium carbonate (an inorganic compound) is often used in water softening. Linear Alcohol Ethoxylate is a nonionic surfactant that can lower surface tension, emulsify fats, and improve wetting. Sodium chloride is salt. Sodium metasilicate is a key ingredient in laundry and dishwashing detergents, enhancing cleaning power and acting as a builder. Overall, there is no fragrance and there are way less chemical components in this detergent than any other detergent on the market. Does it work? Yes! My clothes felt clean and there were no irritations on my skin from wearing clothing that was washed using this detergent. One thing to keep in mind is that a little goes a long, long way. If you use too much then you will get white streaks or patches on your dark clothing. For a full load, I only use about a tablespoon. Would I repurchase? Absolutely! I was super excited to receive the smaller version because it’s so cute and I would like to refill it. Sadly, the can got dented during shipping so I would not repurchase this mini detergent can online due to the unpredictability of its intactness upon arrival.

Powdered laundry detergent with no fragrance smell.
I like the metal vintage canister this comes in, but it was a little battered. I had to use a screw driver to pry it up and off of the can. It doesn't open and close very easily. There is also not a measuring spoon that I could find. I saw one in the ad photos, but have not found one inside the canister or the bag it came in. It's not a big deal, I just use a spoon to measure out a tablespoon of the powder detergent.
It says that this concentrated powder is supposed to be eco friendly and takes up smaller space than watered down liquid detergent, but actually, my liquid detergent is equally concentrated, so I don't find the size of the canister to be that much smaller than an equal sized bottle of liquid detergent.
I was happy to see that this powder did fully dissolve during the washing and did not leave anything on the clothes. It doesn't have any smell or fragrance and frankly that was also disappointing as I do like a fresh scent smell after washing my clothes. They did feel very clean.
Overall, I would say this is better than an average powder detergent but it isn't going to get me to permanently switch from my traditional liquid soap.
