- Reviewed in Canada on October 4, 2021Verified PurchaseThroughout the summer months it's common to find different insects in the house and I don't like killing them if they aren't a threat to anyone/anything. This thing is the perfect solution. It sucks 'em up and I can take them back outside without harming them. The suction power isn't very strong but it's good enough. My kids love it.
- Reviewed in Canada on August 22, 2021Verified PurchaseSo there are lots of devices like this and most seem similar quality and suction power. It worked very well for tiny spiders and lightweight bugs that move easily. Something like a larger black fly initially was tough until I realized 2 things. Wait for the bigger ones to tire themselves out if possible, & just keep it on and aimed as close to them as you can, eventually even large bugs get drawn to the pull of the air or accidentally fly into if it is close to them. It did work substantially better than trying to get a cup on top of them and slide something under it like we used to.
It's built like a toy so don't abuse it and it's lasted almost a year for me. The air current isn't too strong but it is probably best for trying not to hurt the nature you are catching. Does not work well for things like earwigs that don't care about airflow. For earwigs and things using a cub and piece of paper is easy enough though.
Thanks for the wanting to not kill our bug friends!
- Reviewed in Canada on September 7, 2019Verified PurchaseThe customer says "I am terrified of bugs, I'm the person that screams when they see a beetle and I am always hoping someone is nearby so I can bribe them to kill that bug! That all changed when I found this great little bug catcher. First of all the design is fun and it makes you feel like a kid again just holding it. I have caught and released a few bugs with this, its more humane that killing them. If you want to kill them because your afraid it may come back then you simply vacuum the bug and then release it in the toilet and FLUSH. If your a bug hater like myself this is the tool you have been dreaming about! Simple to use and very effective."
- Reviewed in Canada on March 5, 2023Verified PurchaseUsed it for ants and it works wonders. Excellent for catch and release even if its a toy. Comes with batteries but if you change them to brand new ones it works even better.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 20, 2020Verified PurchaseA fun concept. My 7 year old played with it for a couple days. Overall, it doesn’t have a lot of power and the batteries die fairly quickly.
- Reviewed in Canada on January 22, 2019Verified PurchaseAfter this product was opened, the foam bug that is included was vacuumed up 4 times and the vacuum stopped working. I tried replacing the batteries but it still didn't work; it seems like a mechanical issue. I would like a replacement sent out without spending the money on postage to send the broken item back. I haven't been able to find out how to get reimbursed for postage or a replacement to be sent out at no cost to me.
- Reviewed in Canada on August 27, 2019Verified PurchaseGot this for my husband who won’t hurt a fly and spends hours trying to capture bugs and set them free. He says he loves it and it works great and is easy to use. The material is kind of cheap feeling but I mean it’s a toy and not that expensive so what do you expect. I’m just happy that he uses it and loves it.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 16, 2020Verified PurchaseSweet little toy for my bug obsessed 6 year old , but is too grossed out to touch them. Very thankful I no longer have to handle the bugs so he can get a closer look. Not a fan of the baby spiders he sucked up and brought in the house tho. The suction could be better, so it doesn’t pick up large bugs that well like caterpillars or Beatles. But it did suck up some dog hair off my couch. Multi functional.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great for pest control
Verified PurchaseMy girlfriend and I use this to humanely remove bugs from our apartment and it works excellently. Fruit flies and other similarly small critters will get sucked through the holes in the catcher and spat right back out, but an easy work around is to simply fit in a layer of tissue behind or in front of the catcher. This allows the small bugs to be sucked into the catcher, but not through it. For anything larger, it works as is. The ability to separate the sections is also very helpful. I haven't had much use for the light yet, but it's a neat feature. It is definitely styled to appeal to children as that was its target audience, but other than that, it is a great design with no apparent flaws. The build, while not extremely durable, holds up to a lot, and the end piece is soft enough that I don't fear shattering it if dropped. Overall, I think this is an excellent product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Only one in the market!
Verified PurchaseMy 6 years old loves it a lot! The magnifier lense is very clear and we are able to see insects like never before! Suction is not very strong but it's fine. You can't suck ants though, they escape from the holes on the side.
