- Reviewed in Canada on January 28, 2025Verified PurchaseBought this for our grandson. It is a good sized book about the planets and space. Large illustrated pictures but also lots of interesting facts and information. A great book for children from age 5 and up; even adults. Wonderful book!
- Reviewed in Canada on June 10, 2025Verified PurchaseMy 4 year old
Nephew is in love with this book. Exactly why I bought it.
- Reviewed in Canada on November 29, 2016Verified PurchaseI purchased this book for my 5 year old son. He's obsessed with the planets and our solar system (he actually had me make him a mobile, pictured for your amusement lol).
He literally knows everything there is to know about the solar system and part of the wider galaxy, so I don't think this particular book can actually teach him anything that he doesn't already know, but it's always nice to have some tangible information, besides all the apps and digital books and I thought it would make a nice pairing with a telescope that I bought him for Christmas.
It's a gorgeous book, honestly. It has a lovely lay out, with bright and vibrant pictures and bold and clear fonts, typed in a nice size. It has clear and conscise information, I think it would be suitable for a variety of ages, easily ages 4-11.
It has a useful contents page, a solar system map, a very useful glossary and a wonderful index. It also has a nice parent tips section, which has suggestions for experiments and little games.
Definitely worth the purchase.
I'll update after Christmas and let you know how well it was received.

- Reviewed in Canada on July 30, 2021Verified PurchaseThis book is high quality and the ilustrations are amazing and infos are just right for 4 years old and up, but it's outdated so keep that in mind. Since 2008 Pluto is not considered a planet anymore and in this book it is still presented as a planet. For that it gets 4 stars, but the book os great otherwise, for little wannabe astronauts.

- Reviewed in Canada on January 9, 2021Verified PurchaseThere is a lot to learn and although my son is a bit young to grasp all the information on it, I'm using to expand some of the conversations we have started about where we live, how far is the moon, and the different planets. It will be a good educational tool for the years to come. The illustrations are really good and he is interested to learn more. We'll do a few pages at a time.
- Reviewed in Canada on December 9, 2021Verified PurchaseChock full of information - our grandson loves this book. Every time we read it he learns and retains a few more things. Much too long for a bedtime story, but a perfect way to introduce 'reading by chapter'. Good cost value for content. As our grandson loves it that is all we need to recommend it to others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ben fatto. Bello.

5.0 out of 5 stars great
Verified PurchaseMy son's only 2,5 and I wanted to get a book for him with the solar system (they've been learning the names of the planets in the nursery). This one is far too difficult for him at present but... the photos of the planets are lovely and the book is very attractive to him, so we go through it talking about astronauts, the moon, stars etc. I'm happy with the purchase, I'm sure we'll use it a lot in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars SO.. I've had to buy this twice..!
Verified PurchaseWe bought this for my father in law to give to our daughter at Christmas, but we also bought gifts for him to give to our nephew.. so either he got confused or decided that this was better suited to a 4 year old boy than a 4 year old girl... Having had a quick flick through it before we passed it on for wrapping last month I knew that my daughter would love it ..
So, after tracking down where the gift had ended up I bought it for a second time. There was a knock at the door a couple of days after Christmas when my daughter was in the bath (aka Prime delivery). I explained to her that Santa had just been cleaning his sleigh and he found this extra gift for her wedged in a gap. As it was no longer Christmas he couldn't wear his magic suit so he couldn't fly and he had to knock at the door. He was very, very sorry, but the wrapping had been damaged (hence not wrapped) but he really hoped that she enjoyed the book. (Not bad when on the spot I thought!) She thought this was brilliant.
I think it is brilliant that a 4 year old can name the planets, knows that moons go round planets, planets go round the sun...
This book has great illustrations, easy to understand text and captures the imagination of children. I will definitely be buying more from this range.
Apparently my nephew (who is into superheroes) really likes it too.
