  • Upon receiving the unit, all you need to do is pre-flush it. Follow the steps below for the pre-flushing process:

    i. Connect the water source

    ii. Connect a hose to the outlet port

    iii. Turn the water on and flush the unit for 4 to 6 minutes

  • Water softeners remove hardness minerals like calcium and magnesium but not other impurities. Pairing them with a reverse osmosis (RO) system ensures high-quality drinking water by removing salts, heavy metals, and other contaminants.

  • Regenerate your water softener when it loses effectiveness, indicated by hard water symptoms such as soap scum, mineral buildup, or spotty dishes.

  • Backflush your softener every 3 months for 3–5 min to remove debris and minerals. If water pressure drops/hardness increases, backflush with regeneration

    Steps

    1.Connect the water to the outlet port

    2.Turn on high-flow water for faster cleaning

  • Before Storage: Backflush the unit, Regenerate the unit, Drain the unit (do not remove the cap), Store away from direct sunlight

    Re-using after Storage: Backflush the unit, Regenerate the unit, Clean the tank yearly

    Just installed on our seasonal trailer. Immediate excellent results. A few days later, some iron colour is coming through, so I may need to back flush. Our water is extremely high in iron. This may not be a normal situation. Frequency of backflushing is to be determined. I am hooking up a bunch of 3 way valves to allow easy back flushing. Hoping this will be a reasonable solution for this abnormal water supply.

    This unit came arrived as a first class. All the included fitting made the hook up at the RV park seamless. I brought the unit home and filled up my hot tub. Even after the RV Park and my entire hot tub, the unit was still reading in the first box on my water strip hardness tester. I would have given the unit 6 stars, if possible at this point.
    Now the opportunity, I tried to regenerate this unit 2 separate times. After both times, the water tested above the hardest indicator on my test strip. I have looked for ways to contact NP Global to see if there is a special trick to the regen process. I am hoping they read this review and comment with anything that I am missing in the process.

    Update - Company got back to me. I needed to backflush first and then perform 3 regenation cycles due to the water quality and time between regenerations. This is an absolute first class company! I highly recommend doing business with them. It would be nice for them to have a customer service phone number or chat.

    I loved this softener when i first hooked it up. Over a couple months, the water gradually hardened again. I regenerated and back flushed three times each. No improvement. There is not much to this device except the beads, so I am assuming I got some bad ones. I am outside return date and resin costs almost as much as the entire unit so I am going to try another brand.

    By the way, those that are disappointed it is not for drinking water, I have consumed tap water since I was a kid and I have no ill effects. Your city's website should post water purity specs, and most exceed health standards. Put a filter on your tap or get a Brita if you need it. No need to purify your shower or toilet water.

    UPDATE: after leaving the above comments they contacted me and offered a full refund. They did not ask me to change my review but I am upgrading it to reflect the outstanding service.
