The spine-tingling, bone-chilling novel of supernatural suspense from the number one New York Times best-selling author of The Fireman and Horns - now an AMC original series starring Zachary Quinto, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Ashleigh Cummings.

"A masterwork of horror." (Time)

Victoria McQueen has an uncanny knack for finding things: a misplaced bracelet, a missing photograph, answers to unanswerable questions. When she rides her bicycle over the rickety old covered bridge in the woods near her house, she always emerges in the places she needs to be.

Charles Talent Manx has a gift of his own. He likes to take children for rides in his 1938 Rolls-Royce Wraith with the vanity plate NOS4A2. In the Wraith, he and his innocent guests can slip out of the everyday world and onto hidden roads that lead to an astonishing playground of amusements he calls Christmasland.

The journey across the highway of Charlie's twisted imagination transforms his precious passengers, leaving them as terrifying and unstoppable as their benefactor.

Then comes the day when Vic goes looking for trouble...and finds her way to Charlie. That was a lifetime ago. Now, the only kid ever to escape Charlie's evil is all grown up and desperate to forget. But Charlie Manx hasn't stopped thinking about Victoria McQueen. On the road again, he won't slow down until he's taken his revenge. He's after something very special - something Vic can never replace.

As a life-and-death battle of wills builds, Vic McQueen prepares to destroy Charlie once and for all - or die trying.

So far, it's a good book
So far from what I've read, it's a really good book. But my copy has some aesthetic defects, other than the defects provided on the picture attach to this review, there some ink or dirt on the first pages, nothing too bad that affects reading. PSA The christmas front cover with the gingerbread man is a limited edition, the limited edition shares the same ISBN and is the default picture for marketing. So don't expect the christmas cover.

This is a case of the student becoming the teacher..or the apple not falling far from the tree and uprooting the 'ancient sequoia' (OK maybe not quite but the potential is there). It's impressive how Joe wields his words like a 'bone mallet' and they fly off the pages akin to a Triumph tearing up the blacktop in 4th gear. The Easter eggs are also a nice touch, including references to his fathers work (Pennywise, the true knot, shawshank etc). There's a lot to like here and after catching glimpses of the show, the book once again wins by a landslide.

Bought it because the title was so awesome! Felt somehow let down by the book. Although I have read Joe Hill before and enjoyed his offerings, this story seemed to miss the mark for me and I'm not sure why. It felt very convoluted and "messy", if that makes sense. Maybe, if I'm honest, I can say it reminded me too much of his father's writing but without the years of experience backing it up. I'm glad I read it but it's not in the "enjoy again" category.

A big, long novel that I was pleasantly surprised by. Definitely one of Mr Hill's better efforts that kept me pouring through the pages for the entire read. I've never been a really big fan but this one kept me turning the pages.

Hey boys and girls, want to go for a ride to Christmastown? Mr. Manx has a fancy car and he would love to take you there.

In my personal opinion, NOS4A2 was completely flawless. The thought process to pull everything together is something that is rarely seen in a book of this size. The characters are so well developed, I feel like I know them personally and am connected to them. Joe Hill has done an excellent job of pulling everything together to create a masterpiece of fiction. He has taken that old expression, “the truth is stranger than fiction”, stomped on it, spat in its face, and said, “Oh yeah, I’ll show you strange!”

This is one of those books that I can see some crazy producer turning into a feature film, but leaving much of the details out and not doing the story justice. Although I would go to see it, to see Vic, Lou, Manx, Bruce Wayne and Christmastown brought to life.

I loved this book from beginning to end . People saying that there are missing pages at the end of the chapters aren’t reading the book correctly . It’s actually pretty brilliant writing. The end word that it’s “missing”is the title of the next chapter.
