Having a reliable tool for roadside emergencies has always been a priority for me, especially with my work taking me to various locations for shoots. The NOCO Boost Air AX65 is different from many jump starters in the market by being an all in one jump starter and air compressor. This was certainly what drew my attention to it.

This unit advertises itself as a 2000A jump starter, capable of handling gas engines up to 8.0L and diesel engines up to 6.0L, which is quite impressive. I have not had a dead battery scenario to test the jump start feature yet, thankfully, but knowing that capability is there provides a significant amount of peace of mind. As I said earlier, what truly appealed to me was the integrated air compressor. It boasts a 100 PSI max pressure and claims to inflate a flat tire from 0 to 40 PSI in about two minutes. In my experience with it so far, topping off tires has been incredibly fast. The digital display makes setting the desired pressure straightforward, and it automatically shuts off once that pressure is reached, which is a great feature for accuracy and preventing overinflation.

One aspect that stands out is the build quality. It’s what you’d expect from NOCO. The AX65 feels robust and well constructed, far from flimsy. The integrated hose is a good length and seems durable. It is designed to be a practical tool, not just a gadget. Another notable feature is its ability to act as a power bank with USB C Power Delivery. Being able to charge my phone, tablet, or even camera batteries directly from this unit while on location, without needing to find an outlet, is a huge benefit for my profession. The 100 lumen LED flashlight is also quite bright and offers multiple modes, which would be genuinely useful in a dark roadside situation or when packing up gear after a sunset shoot.

While the unit itself is compact for what it offers, it does have some weight to it, which is to be expected given its battery and compressor components. This is not something I would carry in a small backpack, but it fits comfortably in the trunk of my car or. Knowing I have both jump starting power and tire inflation capabilities in one device removes a lot of worry, allowing me to focus on my photography and videography work without constantly thinking about vehicle readiness. It is a solid, reliable piece of equipment that makes a notable difference in my peace of mind while on the road.

This review is for the NOCO Boost Air AX65: 2000A Jump Starter with 22A 100 PSI Air Compressor - 8.0L Gasoline and 6.0L Diesel Engines - Inflating Tires from 0-40 PSI in 2.0 Minutes

There is a lot to say about this, so I'll try to put it in bullet points

Pros
1. I've used NOCO products for years. This is the same high quality I've come to expect from NOCO
2. It does a great job quickly jump starting a car. I forgot to turn my headlights off one night, battery was completely dead. I hooked this up, hit the override and was able to start the car immediately.
3. When I was charging this, it does charge at 58W, the listing says 60W so I think this is accurate.
4. It does a great job quickly filling tires, although it is quite loud. You can set the specific tire pressure you're looking for & when it's reached, it turns off. This is not unique to the NOCO, but it is a feature of this unit worth noting.
5. The built in light is quite bright.

Cons
1. It is large and HEAVY. It weighs about 10 lbs. This does indicate the internal battery is quite robust. However, there is no carrying handle so it's awkward. I'm worried if I drop this it will crack open.
2. The booster cables are a little too short. You essentially have to put this booster right beside the battery you're boosting. Would have been nicer for the cables to be at least 12" long
3. The carrying case for this is a thin material. I don't feel safe carrying it in this. For the price, a plastic storage case would have been better.
4. The instructions aren't included, you have to look them up online. This is important because if you us it in override mode, all safety mechanisms are turned off. You don't know this unless you find & read the instructions.
5. Re the built in light, it's not overly functional given how heavy and large this is. Again, I have to hold the unit with 2 hands when transporting because it lacks a handle.
6. The port to charge it is the same port you would use to power USB based devices. If you're not paying attention, and plug in your device (ie phone) BEFORE turning on the NOCO, the NOCO will start charging itself from your phone battery. You need to turn on the device THEN plug in your phone/tablet/laptop/device you want to power. Again, this is a detail in the instructions that isn't evident. They could have put two ports in, one for charging and one for power, given the size of the unit.

Overall, this is another great product by NOCO. It's not perfect, and the items where it's deficient are something the engineers should have realized. For that I'm deducting a star.

I have not had to test the boosting power (which is good) and can not attest to the 2 minute inflating feature.
I have inflated lots of balls and it did it flawlessly. bonus pouch to carry included accessories. It takes a bit to charge but it takes a long time to discharge so once you are fully charged, you can hit the road with piece of mind knowing it will be ready when you are. Highly recommended if you are ok to pay the price. All the buttons are straight forward which is another issue I have had with other compressors that are a bit more confusing to use.
Overall just a great tool to have in your trunk!

Value for money:
If you compare the specs this air compressor is better than their top wired model the AIR20 and for the battery jumper, somewhere between a Boost HD (GB70) and Boost X (GBX75). Insane value and all in one device. The flashlight is actually bright enough to use, the strobe feature is unique to help use as a road flare replacement.��

Ease of use:
My friends and partner used it without instructions, very intuitive. Just have it charged and use it, charges fast if it's low or dead.

Battery life:
This thing is overbuilt in the best way, high quality motors and circuitry use up a lot of power so it can die pretty fast but it has USB PD fast charging so you don't have to wait hours to use it again if its low.

Power:
This thing will jolt in your hand due to the amount of torque it has.

I will be getting one for each vehicle when they go on sale, and be getting them as gifts.��

Cons:
1. There is no case of this and with weighs about 7lbs so you'll need to secure it or keep it in its original box, but the original box is quite large. Hopefully they come out with a case soon.
2. Kinda wish it had the ability to be used wired because 10+ years from now I'm sure the battery will be aged and not hold a charge, or I'm worried it'll swell.
2a. 1 year warranty, I would like to see 2-3 at least. I understand not doing 5 due to the internal battery
