    The “NIV Lifehacks Bible: Practical Tools for Successful Spiritual Habits” is a Bible designed to help with your Spiritual Formation. This Bible focuses on ways to integrate these disciplines like prayer and scripture understanding into our hearts and mind so that we can be more like Christ.

    This bible contains over 1000 tips and suggestions to aid in your spiritual growth. The goal is that you will find at least eight things to apply to your life, in each of the eight categories of spiritual formation that are listed on page 1369. By applying these habits daily and with God’s help, they are enough to change your life forever.

    The layout of the pages is similar to other study Bibles I have had in the past. Scattered throughout the Bible are articles that focus on a particular habit. They each have title, scripture reference, habit, tip and the article itself. At the end of each article is a short practical takeaway and instructions on where to find your next reading.

    The Bible is hardcover which will help it stand up to daily use. I personally find the pages thin, making them less than ideal to highlight important passages. The font is sharp and clear making it easy to read.

    In the back of the Bible you will find some excellent indexes that will help you on your journey. There is an index of “Readings by Habit”, a “Subject Index” and a series of maps. The Bible also contains a suggested reading plan that will guide you through the Bible in one year.

    The “NIV Lifehacks Bible: Practical Tools for Successful Spiritual Habits” is a Bible designed to help guide you through your spiritual life. It is a Bible that you can revisit at different times of your life and you will find something new to discover.

    When I first heard of this Bible, it sounded "gimmicky", meaning I thought it was just a cool title to get people to buy it. I was very wrong. The great thing about this Bible is that you can just read it, and only use the LifeHacks if you want to. So, it's a great reading Bible. Once you start going through the articles, you will discover there is quite a bit of substance and depth to them. If you are smart you will also buy the Kindle version. The articles are linked two ways - one to the Scripture reference and the other from the Scripture back to the article! You will realize how nice this is if you've ever read a Bible with hyperlinks to the Scripture but none back to where you came from. This has always been a bit frustrating for me, at least.

    Then in the Kindle version, the articles are listed by subject (topics together) and also alphabetically. There is also a 'Read through the Bible in a year' plan.

    The best part here (other than the text of the Bible, of course!) is the articles. For example, Bible Memorization has four articles -
    1. Self-assessment (see where you are with this habit)
    2. How to memorize a verse
    3. How to memorize a book
    4. 5 reasons to memorize Scripture.

    Number four starts out by giving us the example of Jesus resisting the devil by quoting Scripture, then lists five other reasons (all very good!). It uses Scripture as the basis for all of the reasons, which is great because it drives the reader back to the Word. There is also practical take away at the end that gives you something to ponder.

    Since there are 365 'life hacks', you could read one per day. I would recommend one per week, and use each day to ponder a point or two from the article.

    - 10 models for explaining the gospel
    - Self-assessment on evangelism

    and many more!

    You can really use these articles in your spiritual formation to become a more mature, disciple-making Christian. I would also add that at < $3 for the Kindle version, you can buy that and use the articles for your study time and use another translation if you prefer.

    I think this Bible would be more popular if they changed the name to "Spiritual Formation Bible - NIV", and tailored the notes for different versions.
