I like that these soft boxes have an inner fabric strip that is can be repositioned with Velcro; it did help with me with softening the intensity of the light coming from the flash. I was able able to fit both the rectangular and octagonal pieces securely to my flashes. Construction wise, I did not see any physical damage nor mis-sewn parts. I appreciate that these are collapsible and fit comfortably back into the included storage bag; I love that they fit in a bag or hardcase while being relatively flat. While on a camera setup, I did not feel much of a weight penalty while having one of these attached on top; the exterior fabric felt like a faux leather with a matte rubber finish.

    I have been a fan of Neewer products for years. To me, they are the best brand of affordable photography accessories on the market. I have seldom needed their customer service, but when I have, they have always been prompt and helpful. This 2 packs of collapsable speedlight softboxes are an excellent example of Neewer¡¯s quality and design.
    The softboxes come in a convenient zippered carrying pouch with a divider inside to help keep one softbox compressed while removing the one you want to use.
    If you correlate price with quality, you¡¯ll be surprised to discover, these softboxes are made of robust materials. They should hold up to years of use, which is especially key for a product designed to be repeatedly folded and unfolded.
    The silver reflector is a pro-grade lining that will maximize light output, and prevent the loss of power from the flash. The light generated from the softbox is diffused, providing fill light and eliminating harsh shadows.
    The diffusers attach to the flash by an elastic strap using Velcro, allowing you to attach it to flashes of different shapes and sizes. The softbox is light enough to not affect handheld shooting or unbalancing tripods but take some care in outdoor situations where wind may buffet the softbox and cause tipping.
    The adaptability of these softbox diffusers is they are compatible with nearly any brand hot shoe flash unit.
    With the small size of both, either shape is up to the task of softening the light on your subject. For situations where you¡¯ll have a catch light, I would prefer the octagon to provide a highlight as opposed to the square box which might be too angular and distracting.
    Like all tools, these softboxes have uses where they excel. These diffusers are ideal for close-up and macro photography, as well as product photos and use in smaller spaces.
    I wouldn¡¯t hesitate to recommend these speedlight softboxes from Neewer.

    The set comes with an octagonal and rectangular softboxes. The rectangular one offers slightly larger area, however unless used very close to your subject they produce very similar light so I keep them in separate bags to use when needed.

    The materials are very nice, inside of the softboxes are reflective, stitching, hook and loop straps, everything is well made. They fit my speedlites perfectly. No flopping, no light leakage.

    If you are in the market for a light modifier these work great, as long as your expectations are realistic. These are small modifiers, but they still greatly improve the usability of a small flash.

    Very surprised in a positive way, you can also hook it to a flashlight and it will do a great job if you want for video capturing. The only complain I would say, is the base attachment is relatively small and could be bigger to accomodate bigger device.
