I am using this on a 14 Nissan LEAF using a Tesla Mobile Connector (Gen 2). I tried NEMA 5-15 (standard plug, 120V/15A), NEMA 5-20 (120V/20A), and NEMA 14-50 (oven plug, 240V/50A).
There is a slight delay between plugging in and the charge starting. But no issue once the charge starts.
There were no issues at 120V. But when I tried 240V (oven plug), the charge didn’t start. Unplugging and replugging got it working. I tried again with the same result. This time, jiggling the plugs back and forth got it to start. I have charged a few more times, and only once did it start without having to take any extra steps.
It seems there might be an issue communicating the correct amperage required to start the charge. This is the cheapest adapter I could find, so I’m super happy with the results.
I will update about longevity or any other issues. I hope you have found this review helpful!
