Eyes are getting older, and I'm losing some of my finger dexterity, so needle threaders are a must. I've tried several kinds and broken more than a few - these, on the other hand, can handle the strain!! Best with fairly large needle eyes but the smaller hook can also wiggle through tight places. And it won't break as you pull!! In the picture the needle threader, plus a standard one (also available on 鶹 and made beautifully)

    Great design, makes it super easy to thread needles.

    The working principle of these threaders is to help you bend the thread in half (at any arbitrary point) by pulling the thread around the hook, then slide the needle over the bend that is created and pull the thread through. Hard to explain I guess, but really easy to do. It's a pretty genius design, since it allows you to thread the needle at any point along the thread (which is convenient for very long or very short threads), and it allows the design to be completely static and therefore less prone to failure over time. These threaders are made of metal and each will probably last a lifetime.

Instead of the thin wire inserted through the eye of the needle there is a small tab that it part of the threader. You insert this through the eye instead of the wire.
