Gary FReviewed in the United States on January 31, 20265.0 out of 5 stars Quality product - pretty much as advertised/listed.
Verified PurchaseReceived in a plain, carefully shrink-wrapped cardboard box with a clear "REFURBISHED" label on the outside and bubble wrap inside. Cosmetically, the modem looks to be in like new condition, with protective film over indicator lights still intact. Looks like a generic power adapter provided, but perfectly fine and functional. A yellow Cat 5e ethernet cable was included along with an original OEM Quick Start guide. The only thing missing was the little "coax connection" wrench - which obviously is No Big Deal. I left it plugged in overnight to make sure it was electrically "burned in", then installed it today on our existing Xfinity service using the Xfinity app on my phone. Painless, easy and only took maybe 10 minutes. Modem seems to be running fine, have not checked wired "max" connection bandwidth yet but I will maybe tomorrow. This replaced a much lower-spec Linksys modem that served us very well for nearly 10 years -- still running but functionally obsolete.
Update -- getting download speeds easily in excess of 500mbps as measured while operating wirelessly on various devices with our also-new TP Link BE230 router -- well in line with expectations for my Xfinity subscription. This modem was a great upgrade investment for us and we are very pleased.

MadelinnReviewed in the United States on February 5, 20265.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic refurbished product!
Verified PurchaseMy cable company recommended a modem upgrade and this was one of them. I purchased a refurbished one and couldn't be happier with the outcome. It was super easy to install, works quickly, and seems to be great quality. My previous modem was also a Motorola which I had for five years.
AdrianReviewed in the United States on June 2, 20245.0 out of 5 stars Like new condition and works great
Verified PurchaseWasn't in the original box, but it was packaged very well. The ethernet cable, AC adapter and modem all looked new. I couldn't find anything to indicate it had been used.
Installing the modem is super easy, just connect the coaxial cable, ethernet (to my wifi router) and AC adapter. Disconnecting the old modem and trying to clean up my cable routing took a while and was a pain, but that's on me for always having such bad cable management. Don't forget to call your ISP to have the new modem activated on your account.
This modem replaced a Motorola MB7420, which was a little to old for my current 600mbps internet plan. With the MB8600 I'm getting as much as 574mbps, compared to the low 400's with the previous modem. The MB8600 is physically larger than the MB7420, but runs significantly cooler.
I'm quite happy with this refreshed/refurbished modem. It was far less expensive than a new one and so for it's working just like new.

TyReviewed in the United States on June 22, 20241.0 out of 5 stars WARNING** Intermittent connection drops
Verified PurchaseI wish I could give this a zero-star rating. I’ve had Docsis 3.1 for a few weeks now, and it’s been nothing but a constant source of frustration. The intermittent connection drops are infuriating and seem to happen at the worst possible times. Whether I’m on an important video call, streaming a movie, or just trying to browse the web, this modem has failed me consistently.
I’ve spent countless hours troubleshooting, restarting, and even replacing cables, but nothing resolves the issue. Customer service has been useless, offering generic advice that does nothing to fix the problem.
Docsis 3.1 is the epitome of unreliability. If you’re looking for a stable internet connection, do yourself a favor and avoid this modem like the plague. Total waste of money and time.
